i believer hurling quarter finals will be thurles double header however i think waterford v wexford should be in kilkenny with clare v galway in limerick (ok i am biased here) --mind you parking and access to thurles is very very good

be interested so see what fans of participating counties think

Would swell the crowd in kilkenny for Wexford people anyway, that's for sure. Thurles is a cross-country mare of a drive from Wexford!

Agree with janesboro
both them venues would attract more people than thurles.

Wouldn't most hurling people like to see a double-header though? Two good games to look forward to here.Probably will be Thurles although from reading a lot of Galway posters over the years quite a lot of them don't like Thurles ; a combination of poor results and even poorer roads for the tribesmen.Interesting to see a Wexford poster has already said the trek to Tipp is tough going by road.Would posters from the four counties involved prefer Croke Park?

Thats not the worst suggestion in the world...be good prep for SF too...but its hard to beat thurles to be fair. 4 well supported counties ..full house to be expected. Wd v wx at 2pm....lk v ce at 4pm

I think our crowd(Wexford) will increase immeasurably after the poor turnout on Saturday especially with two of our teams playing.I for one can't wait for the trip to thurles . Nobody would have believed we would be in this situation just a few weeks ago . There is a unique atmosphere in the town before big championship games. Will there be near a capacity crowd lads ? Surely each participating county will have over 10k each supporting their teams. It is hard to predict with te minor game but looking at it now all teams look well matched and hopefully we get a day of hurling to finally lift off championship 2016 and who knows at the end of it all my own county could be in an All Ireland semi final :)

Galway posters don't like Thurles cos it's in Tipp :)

They could never get big enough crowds when the quarter finals were in croke park.

So you reckon Croke Park is easily reached from places like Clifden, Carrigaholt, Ballyhack, Ring and Abbeyfeale, for LK minor followers. I do not think so. Leave it to the real home of hurling.

Haven't a major issue with these games been in thurles as it's a good day out etc. What bothers me is the games like the recent under 21 finals we've had against clare and limerick been in thurles and oularts club semi final against na pairsaigh, for these games with crowds of less than 20,000 portlaoise for example would be a fairer venue,I know plenty of people you didn't travel to those 2 under 21 finals I mentioned due to due the 7 o'clock throw in and arriving home at a late hour

Thurles is a great venue alright but terrible roads. Ive gone down to limerick on the m18 and up to thurles via m7 a few times now. Bit longer but better roads.

If these games were played in separate venues can you just imagine the amount of "Grab All Association" comments that would go around?

Most hurling people as you call it will get a double header as they will be sitting at home watching them both one after the other on tv. For the supporters of the four counties involved it would make more sense. Nowlan park would attract a good crowd for wexford and Waterford as it's situated very close to both. Galway and Clare in the main have to drive through limerick to get to thurles so it's only adding extra journey for both. Too many games in thurles lately where the crowds just aren't turning up you had a triple header on Saturday that was less than a third full.

cuederocket, a motorway to headquarters from all sides, it definitely would be the preferred option in Wexford!

The quarter finals have been a double header in Thurles for a few years now hill.It makes sense. As well as the four participating counties most neutrals would like to see two live games.Your option of the two games at different venues makes little sense.

Your obsessed with fans having to drive an extra half hour to get somewhere hill haha.Oooogh Waterford had to travel all over the world to get to Limerick instead of Thurles ; what a shocker. An extra 10e fuel and back home a wee bit later.Your making a mountain out of a mole hill, hill.Thurles is the best option for a double-header.

It's more than half hour extra for some ppl. I think you have a Pale view of matters, Cue!
Galway is a big county and there are loyal hurling supporters in Connemara as well as east of the Corrib. Most of the driving from Clifden to Thurles is not even a dual carriageway.

Here's the difference between Thurles and Limerick. The drive to Lk is shorter and easier.
Clifden to Thurles: 216 km, 3.5 hrs [7hrs in total]
Clifden to Gaelic Grounds: 170 Km, 2.5 hrs [5 hrs in total]
