No disrespect to any Anrtim posters on here but Corrigan Park was the worst Intercounty ground I have ever seen last night. How does it even meet the GAA's criteria. Surely there is more decent grounds in Antrim then this? Ballycastle no? 222 (UK) - Posts: 681 - 27/06/2016 12:57:50 1872715 Link 2 |
Yeah to be honest I was a bit surprised myself when they went down that road. There are some good grounds further away like Ballycastle but then that is another hour or so from Belfast. Creggan and Ahoghill have been used and are decent but access is off minor roads and parking limited. Glenravel and Loughguile have excellent facilities and while both are approx. 10 mins away from dual carriageway is still a good 45 mins from Belfast. Hard to know but I suppose more than anything it highlights the shambles we have around Casement Park and the void we currently sit with. Corrigan Park is currently being redeveloped, they knocked down a stand recently and are turning it into a community hub of some sort. bumpernut (Antrim) - Posts: 1852 - 27/06/2016 13:57:04 1872764 Link 0 |

Why the big surprise? I think posters should direct their anger at the Ulster Council and Croke Park who have neglected Belfast and Antrim for decades. What do you expect when the second biggest city on the island and it's clubs and players have been treated as 4th class citizens by the GAA?
