What is going on? I used to love the way Down played and always had some tradition. But since they reached the All-Ireland final were they only lost by a point to Cork, its been a disaster!

Great win for Longford.Regardless of how poor Down are it is never easy to win away from home.

Last season Down finished on top of Div 2...Were unlucky to lose by a solitary point to Derry in Ulster and were caught in Wexford in the qualifiers.

The county seemed to have an awful reaction to the Wexford loss and the wheels have truly come off now.

There have been encouraging signs over the last 3 weeks that football is more competitive than people have been warning about.

Galway, Tipp, Cavan and Longford all bucking expectation.

Dublin are rightly heavy favourites but they're not invincible and on their day anyone of Kerry, Mayo, Tyrone, Monaghan or Donegal could catch them on the hop.

I was at the Down v Donegal league game this year. Some of the Down players walked from the bench to get togged in well before the final whistle. If lads from an underage team did it I wouldn't be impressed never mind a county team.

Don't think so football championship is competitive until u.add Dublin to the mix . Their too professional in their approach
Mayo I think are still the only team that can realistically challenge them buy that depends on their ability to sort themselves out psychologically if Rochford can sort out the dressing room they can realistically challenge if not they won't get past qtr finals !
