Given what we saw from Mayo last Saturday evening I can't help thinking that the Rossies would have preferred to be facing that ageing, creaking, overrated Mayo team than a youthful, enthusiastic and unpredictable Galway side. Condorman (Dublin) - Posts: 983 - 20/06/2016 12:53:35 1869555 Link 2 |

Last Championship match between the counties was in 2102 in the Hyde. Home and away arrangement that has been in place since God's time. kiloughter (Galway) - Posts: 1938 - 20/06/2016 14:01:30 1869628 Link 0 |
I think the bookies have this one right, I can't decide either. KerryKillers (Dublin) - Posts: 711 - 20/06/2016 14:14:03 1869641 Link 0 |

I can't help thinking that the Rossies are absolutely delighted to be facing Galway.

We go in as underdogs to a team high on adrenaline and rightly so. OhtobeARossie (Roscommon) - Posts: 1755 - 20/06/2016 23:15:43 1869979 Link 0 |
Final in Pearse Stadium on July 10th, won't do Galway's chances any harm at all Richieq (Meath) - Posts: 3734 - 22/06/2016 11:54:04 1870678 Link 0 |
Nice try, but no way. 1st division team against middle of the road 2nd division team? Home advantage is over-rated (it did nothing for Mayo last weekend!) and with Roscommon carrying a little more threat up front, you'd have to think they have enough to edge it.

50 : 50 game nothing more not less! With both sides having right good forwards in their camps it should make for a right good game. Both teams in the last 12 anyhow but a CONNACHT title would be a major boost to either county! moros (Roscommon) - Posts: 1074 - 23/06/2016 18:43:03 1871310 Link 0 |
Yes Ros are firm favourites but they have anxiety when it comes to Galway so expect a close game, may the best team win. suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1657 - 23/06/2016 18:45:50 1871313 Link 0 |
We've absolutely no anxiety in playing Galway ever. Don't know where that is coming from. Let the best team win. No need for silly stuff! moros (Roscommon) - Posts: 1074 - 23/06/2016 19:27:38 1871327 Link 0 |
Galway for me and PP was betting 5/6 on each. I have a small bet on Donegalto win Ulster but I will have the max on Galway at 5/6 SamOnErrigal (Donegal) - Posts: 1427 - 23/06/2016 20:14:58 1871347 Link 0 |

Very proud of the team and management in McHale park last saturday. They have taken a lot of stick, too much in my view, and they certainly silenced their critics. It was a huge day for galway football in many ways. Rocky.Road (Galway) - Posts: 374 - 24/06/2016 13:19:32 1871519 Link 0 |
Expectancy is at high levels in Roscommon, can they cope with it? Galway on the other hand have laid down a maker and beaten one of the best teams in the county in their own backyard, all the pressure on the Ros. TheWestIsAwake (UK) - Posts: 529 - 24/06/2016 14:17:43 1871535 Link 0 |
Your post makes no sense on the one hand you are talking about Galway laying down a marker on the other you are saying all the pressure is on ros i think everyone in Roscommon knows it going to be a tough match and it could go either way.
