The Sunday Game is a Long Way from Tipperary

Disgraceful by Sunday Game to show only 2 minutes of Tipp victory today? This has been biggest shock in championship in otherwise one sided championship. Tipperary deserve better than this?

It was annoying alright. I flicked onto the Sunday Game 5 mins in and missed the Tipp game which was all I really wanted to see!

Their coverage of meath louth was worse! All hurried so they could give half a bloody hour to one hurling game!! Typical sh*te

Not many seen it. Less than 3000 at the game is a terrible attendence!

every ulster match is covered by the BBC. it is the BBC's pictures /cameras that RTE use so it is cheaper for them and less hassle to "cover" and ulster game live. I thought they should have covered either Cork v Tipp or Meath v Louth today along with Sligo v Roscommon (which was a really good game to be fair).

RTE could easily have shown a Leinster/Munster match today as the Ulster match was already live on BBC2,

BBC is available to the majority now on cable, freeview and freesat.. a lot more than have Sky Sports at any rate ... It would also spare us the long faced panelist competing for the funniest insult of Ulster football with very limited analysis. Offering us a choice of viewing would mean that those who constantly post negative views on Ulster football could enjoy an alternative match.

RTE very reluctant to let go of a product they clearly don't value or appreciate for some years.

Turned out to be the best game of the day and we get a half arsed two minutes with a voice-over. Not much effort from RTE.

The sunday game has been rubbish for a while now. I actually turned off from RTE to BBC to watch the Donegal match I just couldn't take brolly and spillane shouting over each other and the only decent pundit on the panel in Whelan culdnt get a word in at all.

I firmly believe Setanta should be given rights to the championship RTE has shown nothing but disrespect to the league for year and setanta coverage of the league is brilliant.

I really liked darragh Maloney as a commentator its a pity he doesn't do more games.

Looks like RTE preempted that this fixture wasn't worth the hassle and didn't set up proper cameras down there, so they decided to headline with the Tipp story and oddly a phone call with the manager, too late lads, ye f****d up!

Absolutely dreadful programme . Awful coverage of a major shock . RTE's attitude to the games is appalling . They took a gamble and sent a single camera down to Semple Stadium. They then did a voice over on it . The whole thing blew up in their face .They did the same with four of the six football games this weekend . BBC covered the Donegal v Fermanagh game and Sky covered the hurling . RTE only sent a full team of cameras to one of the seven games played this weekend. RTE don't deserve to cover the championships .Michael Lyster needs to be called out on this and asked to explain what is happening .

Sky Sports coverage definitely better more professional and better pundits.

As has often been stated on here before BBC can only show the games RTE are showing live - hence only deferred coverage of the Fermanagh - Antrim game on the BBC and why the second semi-final which will be on Sky won't be shown on BBC.
Therefore RTE can't show an alternative game to the BBC either, either RTE show it or it isn't on.

I waited for coverage of the Meath-Louth game (all 2 minutes of it) then went to bed as was up early this morning. I didn't realise they showed that much of the hurling. There is far too much of a hurling bias on the Sunday game night time program.

Went to a bar to watch the matches and they had Sunday Game on. What I found hysterical was RTE had the news on at half time (Donegal v Fermanagh) and it wasn't your 2 min summary but a full on news bulletin in Irish with weather I thought the channel skipped to TG4 - I suppose it saved us from the rubbish that Whelan and Brolly come out with.

this is very confusing. so bbc provide the cameras and production but they can't show it live unless RTe show it live. ?

What more do ye want lads? Two whole minutes for Meath v Louth and a bonus extra extra minute for Tipp's momentous day v Cork. This is what we wait all year for.And that live phonecall to Liam Kerins was so ultra modern and moving.I nearly shed a tear when he admitted to becoming a grandfather. It was an emotional rollercoaster last night.

Lack of competition means RTE are complacent and their coverage is increasingly sloppy.
