The round 1 draw is on next Tuesday with a couple of good teams so there could be some good matches in store.

If London get drawn at home will they play in Ruislip ? Or has the regeneration started and London will have to forfeit home advantage because of it ?

It's gotta be Wembley, the demand will be phenomenal.

well it is the law in the GAA that any team who play against London or New York must travel to their location . But in previous years London have played in Ireland before . So if there is some aggrement made they will be in Ireland . but must likely they will stay in Ruslip. If I played county I would like to travel abroad it is a great experience really.

I see that Antrim can draw Fermanagh and this is allowed. Why on earth after all these years are the GAA still allowing this to happen. surely they could just put the second team aside and draw out another. I mean I am sure neither team would want to play each other again. anyway It is ridiculous that you beat a team but you end up no further on than them in the competition.

You have that one wrong there chief. New York and London are both guaranteed to play their first game of the Championship at home. If they progress in the Connacht Championship then they must play in Ireland. When London got to the Connacht Final they drew with Leitrim in Carrick and the replay was in the Hyde. If London get drawn at home they will be at home (providing Ruislip is available). If they get drawn away they will be away.

I have one major concern.Whoever loses between Meath/Louth have to play 6 days later,I thought the GAA scraped this? In Meaths case, their first game is 6 weeks after the championship has started and could well have to play 6 days later,a complete and utter joke from the GAA.They could have at least have had Meath and Louth playing this weekend.

Agreed, I previously suggested a few years ago, that we should be keeping same-Province teams apart in the opening two rounds of the Qualifiers, to try and avoid this kinda of thing from happening.

I think i even wrote it on the GAA survey they posted out to everybody. Deaf ears I'm afraid.

It seems with the GAA hirearchy that it is always one step forward followed by one step backwards. Around 2005 or 2006 they changed the system wherby counties who played each other in the provincials couldn't meet again in the qualifiers. This was due to the fact that for a couple of years previously Tyrone and Derry kept on meeting and pressure was applied to change this. Then four or five years later the reverted to type.

I meant to add that the same applied to the 6 day turnaround. As ziggy says it's crazy that the losers of Meath/Louth should have to play 6 days later when one considers how drawn out the championship has become with huge gaps between games for long periods during the summer..
