Just reading that piece with Shane Ryan on the website. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 02/06/2016 10:01:06 1860778 Link 4 |
I dont think Shane Ryan is talking about shutting people up about fairness. I think he's talking more about shutting those up who claim we cant play outside the comfort zones of Croke park. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 02/06/2016 11:15:06 1860820 Link 1 |
funny ,it hasn't stopped you repeating yourself for years

The Master you's played against a pub team last Sunday on your on here going on about fairness haha brilliant. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 02/06/2016 11:41:45 1860830 Link 1 |
But as I said, nobody was claiming that they couldn't do it wayno (they do it regularly enough in the league after all), the point is that they don't have to play away from home while everyone else does. Like it doesn't seem to occur to him that laois are still playing away from home in this fixture, even though it is supposed to be at home... You really wonder about the mindset involved where someone would think that this would appease a single person, let alone shut anyone up, be that shane ryan or anyone else. Damo, you mean comment on poor decisions in the gaa? Do you not do that yourself? Maybe talk about the subject matter instead of crying foul all the time. If Im being unfair on the subject then it shouldn't be an issue for you to highlight that. By all means, do so. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 02/06/2016 11:44:10 1860832 Link 1 |
They played against London in Ruislip, with the gate receipts going to London. What's unfair about that? London are probably at a not too dissimilar level to say, Longford, who Dublin played in their championship opener last year. Gleebo (Mayo) - Posts: 2208 - 02/06/2016 12:00:56 1860838 Link 3 |
You go on about fairness MAster, and yet our footballers havent played a single home championship game in i dont know how long. All our championship games are played in a neutral venue. Still, We've won 3 all irelands in 5 years.. Still... Very unfair that we cant use our own stadium for league and championship games :/ waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 02/06/2016 12:06:03 1860840 Link 3 |
Sure Dubs consider us all culchies and from 'down the country'. They are unable to differentiate what difference it makes between Laois and Kilkenny.. ;) Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9070 - 02/06/2016 12:09:08 1860842 Link 4 |
Dublin aren't proving a point to anyone by playing an extremely rare away game out of Croke Park in Dublin... As for taking cheap shots at Mayo playing London, that's pretty daft; it was hard enough to get Dublin to get out of the capital never mind on a plane to London! And the Leinster Championship isn't up to very much. Donegal_abroad (Donegal) - Posts: 1317 - 02/06/2016 12:36:59 1860856 Link 1 |
I was referring to you going on and on and on and on and on and on and on , Everyone and I mean everyone knows were you stand on the Dubs on advantages , I mean how on earth could they not know what alternative Hoganstand planet could they be living on for them not to know were you stand , the problem is you have done this to death a million times .Dressing the pig up in a blanket giving it lipstick doesn't make it a bird.

Do many people claim that though? We don't know that because Dublin don't play outside of Croke Park.Look they would beat Laois in my back garden, but thats not the point. This game should have been a home game for Laois, would have been great for the town too, better atmosphere etc and maybe a little closer too.

Absolutely chief. But thats not my fault. Or the fault of anyone in Dublin football circles. You could put the game in Syria and Dubs would travel no questions asked. We're just going where we were told to go. Unfair n all on Laois as it is, Its not our problem. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 02/06/2016 14:04:08 1860887 Link 2 |
I don't know what Shane Ryan is getting when referencing Kerry , Kilkenny & Tyrone with regard to resources. KYTitletown (Kerry) - Posts: 816 - 02/06/2016 14:32:37 1860898 Link 1 |

You would be mad to go to Syria at the moment, there is a civil war and terrorist atrocities taking place on a daily basis. Also, summer temperatures often hit the low forties, not condusive to a high intensity game such as Gaelic Football. Anyway Syria wouldnt have much of a Gaa tradition so somewhat bemused by your comment. Horse (Laois) - Posts: 1146 - 02/06/2016 15:40:20 1860922 Link 0 |
Oh I agree with that, but somebody said it was the fault of the Dubs. Its firmly at the GAA's door.

Shane Ryan comments are his own, they doesn't represent all Dublin fans. AthCliath (Dublin) - Posts: 4347 - 02/06/2016 16:39:06 1860946 Link 0 |
I liked Shane Ryan as a player, thought he gave absolutely everything on the pitch but I think he's looking at this away trip for the Dubs in a very negative light. Instead of worrying about who the Dubs are going to 'shut up' or proving what has already been proved (that Dublin can play outside of Croker, they do it regularly in the League), why not see this a pleasant opportunity for Dublin fans to go on a road trip. Ok without someone jumping down my neck, can anyone explain the GAA's decision to play this game in KK...a county that does nothing to promote football? yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11219 - 02/06/2016 17:14:42 1860958 Link 0 |
It is an absolute farce that it's being played in KK.Once again these gombeens have made a balls of a simple task. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 02/06/2016 18:59:51 1860988 Link 1 |
