Looking ahead to the Qualifier's

(Oldest Posts First)

Its underway after a low coveraged but decent round of games by "so called smaller counties" last weekend.

Just two quick questions if anyone can assist

1.Where is it highlighted which provincial games fall under 1A and which games will be on 1B for the Qualifiers as previous years?
I notice round 1A of the Qualifier's are penciled in for Saturday June 18th,same day as Ireland's Euro 2016 game with Belguim,2pm kick off, hope there is sense when G.A.A finalise those fixtures.

2. Can anyone confirm if teams who have already met in provincial system can be drawn again each other in early rounds of qualifiers?(This rule changes so much I forget)

Thanks

Essentially if you are in the top half of your provincial draw you are in the A and in the bottom half the B - if you go in to Wiki you can see which teams fall in to which easily enough.

As far as I am aware we can't meet yourselves in the first round of the Qualifiers - both in the B as lilywhite points out. From the teams in the B side I reckon the 8 who will be in the Qualifiers Rd 1 will be;

London
Longford
Westmeath
Wexford
Waterford
Down
Fermanagh
Antrim

And if I am wrong re not being able to meet the same team then I have no doubt we will draw Fermanagh. If I am right then it will be Down we draw.

Cynical bumper? No no no - that was being wishful ;-)

Neverright - if Donegal lose then just replace Fermanagh in above with them. Either is good.

I believe that team who have already met in the championship can meet again. The only criteria which follows is if a team was away in Round 1 last year, they are at home this year. However if the two teams drawn were away from home in 2015, the first team out has home venue.
