I,m watching hurling since,about,1986(10 year old).I have been to many, many games over the years, seen so many brilliant hurlers.Sometimes i try and think what my best 15 hurlers would look like.Obviously,as the years go by,new players come on the scene and your team changes. No doubt we will have the pleasure of seeing more class hurlers over the coming years.I've thought about this long and hard and have had to leave out so many players.I could pick four or five teams easily. There are many excellent posters on here who i enjoy reading.I would be interested in when ye started watching hurling and what yere best team would look like to date.I have picked players in a position they have played in at some stage in their career. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 23/11/2015 21:42:38 1809395 Link 0 |

Good post Cue, this one had me thinking for a while. My hurling years started in about 93 when I was 9, I was in the Lower Cusack (the last time a hurling final was played in front of the old stand) to see KK beat Galway. If I was to pick the best hurlers based on achievements and big match performances I'd probably end up with 12 or 13 Kilkenny players and it would be a hell of a team. Instead I went for players who for me personally were a joy to watch, you'd have travelled the length of the country to see and who were obviously among the best of that era, so here goes. I would say Jamesie O Connor and Ciaran Carey are especially unfortunate, I have to be honest and say I am not certain if I would have Joe Canning in it yet, if Galway win an All Ireland I would possibly change that, would Seamus Callanan be more deserving of a slot at the minute. I don't know, its a fine effort and to be honest I am picking holes here slightly. Elvisahaha (Mayo) - Posts: 36 - 24/11/2015 09:38:45 1809419 Link 0 |
I'll go more along the lines of favourite hurlers I've seen. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13704 - 24/11/2015 09:55:17 1809426 Link 0 |

Corcoran became a hero from the moment I seen him destroy the great Pat Fox in 92 at corner back which is why hes selected there. slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 24/11/2015 14:58:30 1809542 Link 0 |
