Massive Congrats to Dublin's flying halfback Jack McCaffrey. But was really surprised he won. Angus (Dublin) - Posts: 283 - 06/11/2015 20:15:54 1805044 Link 0 |
Wow No paddy Andrews. i thought he was a cert for an all star. Did a lot more than AoS and Dublin's game plan was not built around him sxckev (Mayo) - Posts: 211 - 06/11/2015 20:34:56 1805049 Link 0 |
I'm surprised but pleased McCaffrey won it as he was my pick for the award. I thought they'd take the easy option and give it to Brogan. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 06/11/2015 21:35:39 1805071 Link 0 |

Well done to Jack McCaffrey he had a great year and is a hell of a player.Bernard Brogan is the one I'd have picked and hats off to Philly McMahon on a marvellous year he has improved vastly on previous campaigns.I do agree with posters saying that he was never going to win it as it's not the first time controversial players were overlooked like Geraghty McMennamin etc. runnerin (Meath) - Posts: 202 - 07/11/2015 12:32:26 1805131 Link 0 |
Congrats to McCaffrey on his award. Awards will always cause controversy as there is very little between a lot of our top players. However, I think McCaffrey is an outstanding role-model for young lads hoping to make it to the top in the game. He keeps his game simple and plays to his strengths. He plays the game as it should be played, in a sporting manner, and doesn't get involved in the seedier antics that many others feel they have to. Yet nobody could say that he is not a 'manly' player. I think that the GAA should be doing an awful lot more to highlight the qualities, skills, character and potential of our top young playes(such as McCaffrey, O'Connor and all the others) and promote them as 'stars' and 'idols' to inspire our young kids, like other sports do. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 07/11/2015 12:38:36 1805132 Link 0 |
