Very sad to hear this, Seemed like he'd go on playing for Louth forever. Great skills and great longevity for a player and really gave it all for the county which makes it all the more surprising to see him gone at a young age. God bless him. RIP. Don't think 1 person (including the losing finalists St Pats) begrudged him his only ever Louth Senior Club Medal at the age of 45, were he put in a masterclass at midfield. DundalkGael (Louth) - Posts: 891 - 23/10/2015 13:01:12 1801527 Link 0 |
He represented Louth on 179 appearances and he holds the record for the most appearances for the Wee County. He never played underage for Louth and his made debut at 23. He finally won a Senior Championship in 2006 when the Joes beat the Pats. He was in his mid forties. R.I.P. OLLIE (Louth) - Posts: 12224 - 23/10/2015 13:23:20 1801535 Link 0 |

Stephen was a man apart. 17 years of unselfish playing service to Louth and further periods as a selector beyond that. 19616609 (Louth) - Posts: 1595 - 26/10/2015 17:37:28 1802017 Link 0 |

Very very sad news, I didn't even know the man was unwell, tragic to see a man that was the epitome of strength, fitness and dedication taken so soon. My condolences to all Louth GAA people and to Stephens family and friends Richieq (Meath) - Posts: 3734 - 27/10/2015 11:41:09 1802187 Link 0 |
