Been saying that a while. Lee Keegan is a fine player and a great season. Despite that, JM topped his performance in the replay. Was faultless and dragged Dublin back into it. poguemahone (Dublin) - Posts: 365 - 22/09/2015 19:16:23 1790972 Link 0 |

Lee Keegan is the best wing back in the country in my opinion. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13704 - 22/09/2015 19:23:14 1790981 Link 0 |

Agree fully with MesAmis, they are fantastic players and should be roll models for young half backs breaking into the big-time. McGlynn was a delight to watch but the hard graft put in over the years may be catching up with him now. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 22/09/2015 19:31:26 1790984 Link 0 |
James McCarthy is the best half Back in Ireland bar nobody. An absolute powerhouse both going forward and in Defence. endgame (Roscommon) - Posts: 2154 - 22/09/2015 19:33:00 1790986 Link 0 |
James McCarthy is an absolutely immense player. He typified Dublin's winning mindset on Sunday. Tremendous sportsman and a credit to his county. A shoe in for an All-Star in my opinion. He is a rock, one of the foundations this team is built on. avonali (Dublin) - Posts: 1974 - 22/09/2015 19:41:16 1790989 Link 0 |

I don't think if Keegan of all people gets one it will be because of a quota but because he deserves it. There definitely is a quota though. Of course you wouldn't swap him, I wouldn't expect you to nor would we swap Keegan. Would Donegal swap McGlynn, Tyrone swap Harte or Monaghan swap Dessie Mone? I doubt it. I still don't think McCarthy is that over-rated since he got an all-star when he probably didn't deserve it. I think if anyone will lose out if he gets one this year (which he would be worthy of) I think it would be Cian. Unlike many for us over the two semis, bar one missed point, Keegan was brilliant and got the better of Connolly as well. wee_yo (Mayo) - Posts: 63 - 22/09/2015 20:20:28 1791025 Link 0 |
James Mc Carthy would have been my man of the match. Superb footballer I can't recall anyone ever giving him a roasting over the last 5 yrs dubarra (Wicklow) - Posts: 541 - 22/09/2015 20:49:33 1791042 Link 0 |
Lee Keegan is the best half back in the country, a brilliant marker combined with exceptional attacking skills. He has more points from play in the semi finals and finals that Mayo have played in than Cillian O'Connor. Keegan was superb against Donegal and had 2 great games against Dublin, he deserves an All Star ahead of McCarthy. TheWestIsAwake (UK) - Posts: 529 - 22/09/2015 20:57:57 1791049 Link 0 |
I always thought Keegan was better, but McCarthy was better than him this year, flawless and inspirational, especially when really needed flack (Dublin) - Posts: 1054 - 22/09/2015 21:23:35 1791069 Link 0 |
Liam, Dublin have benefited from the quota system more than most over the years - no point bickering now that the shoe is on the other foot (tho as stated above, in Keegan's case it wouldn't be - he is the best half back in the country. Himself and McCaffrey will get the all-stars) cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5010 - 22/09/2015 21:35:12 1791078 Link 0 |
