Your Dream final?

What would your dream final be in football and hurling?

For me it would be:
Mayo v Roscommon in football
Galway v Dublin in hurling

Hurling:

Antrim v Wexford - realistic in theory in that they have a similar number of clubs to KK who are currently dominant. Currently unrealistic in reality.

Football

Roscommon v Monaghan - both division 1 teams-both small counties that are close enough to the top..with a bit of luck one of them could reach the final-unlikely both would be in the final in the same year...I would take Cork v one of them as an alternative..

Mayo v Limerick in both :-)

Dublin vs Kerry of course.

Ha!

Genuinely for me Dublin v Kerry is MY dream final. I just wanna see my team beat Kerry in finals! Totally understand how others aren't enamoured by it though.

In hurling my dream final would be Dublin against anyone!!!

As a neutral though I just wanna see the best teams in the country play off.

Cavan Dublin in both.

A realistic* hurling one would be Dublin Clare though.

*Don't bother with a hilarious jibe about Cavan reaching a football final.

Dublin v Donegal in football - There was a real atmosphere that could have been cut with a knife in last years SF, which was in part due to the aftermath of 2011.

Cork v Kilkenny in Hurling - I think a strong Cork side facing Kilkenny in an All Ireland final would be unreal. Sadly Cork aren't strong enough at the moment.

My dream final is one in which Mayo are victorious; the rest are nightmares.

Have to be realistic here. No point dreaming of Carlow v Meath in Hurling

Dublin v Wexford hurling
Mayo v Westmeath Football

Hurling- Tipperary V Clare. We still owe them from '97

Football- Tipperary v Mayo. Even if we lost I'd be happy. Think the whole country would go west for the celebrations.

Derry v London - if Derry wins then Derry is no longer known as Londonderry and England's Capital is known as Derrylondon. That might help generate interest across the water.

North Antrim v South Antrim in both codes.

For the above scenario to be possible it would mean that we would have been dominating both codes for so long that, after a successful Hoganstand forum campaign, we were split in to two. Forget your Carlsberg, that's the sort of dreams Kleenex was made for!!

Incidentally the semi final in the above year scenarios were:

North Antrim v South Dublin
South Antrim v North Kerry

limerick vs waterford hurling..both counties itching for an all ireland win both counties fans are superb.be a very intriguing game to watch

kerry vs cork football.i may be biased here but i still feel we owe kerry a loss in croke park..obviously the cork team of 2005-2010 will never achieve that but be nice to get one over em for the cork fans sake...thats assuming we would win..which im sure we are all aware wont happen so in that case its a dream/nightmare final haha

unbiased view mayo vs kildare...originally id say mayo vs donegal but seeing as that happened recently ill pull for this...imagine the atmosphere and colour and passion on display for this final

Yep, done! That said we did push ye all the way in the 2002 football championship, going down 0-13 to 1-9

Ideal final for me would be Mayo v anybody so long as the opposition was locked in the dressingrooms in Croke Park and couldn't get out, the GAA would have to give us the title, don't care how it comes but a All Ireland title is a title. Seriously an ideal final would be a World Cup GAA Final both Hurling and Football involving non Irish teams imagine seeing a major final on TV between a provience in say Australia against a team from an Asian country or a South American team v European or African team, may take a long time to happen but you never know, the best of the world playing against our best in Ireland, would be worth watching just to see the growth in our games worldwide
