I had a debate about tickets last night with a relation of mine (a disappointed, ticket-less Mayo fan, living in Dublin). Cherno_Samba (Louth) - Posts: 632 - 02/09/2015 15:08:55 1780688 Link 0 |

Looks its the same in every sport when it comes to major finals. Remember the Meath fans standing on the roof of the Nally in 1996....christ the game would be halted these days on H&S grounds. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11219 - 02/09/2015 15:35:00 1780720 Link 0 |
Why dont all these hardcore fans join they're local club and get tickets that way? dizzydub (Dublin) - Posts: 339 - 02/09/2015 15:35:59 1780721 Link 0 |
Fair point that there are more important things in life than a football match. But not many !It's fair to say that even if tickets are sold out there aren't enough names for all the seats yet. I'm hoping to get one before Saturday and if not I'll hit Drumcondra that afternoon hoping to locate one at face value. Plan B is to swell the ill-gotten gains of the don who controls the touts. Can't remember the year but it was a Waterford v Clare semi and I got a tour down below face-value for a ticket. Silly man touting tickets for a half full game ! As someone posted on another thread beware of anyone selling you a photocopied ticket. Could be hundreds of the same. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7290 - 02/09/2015 15:50:31 1780729 Link 0 |

Cheers Croigorm, will keep an eye out for that. I think they send out one ticket and there's a stub attached like a receipt. But probably unsuspecting fans have been caught out with them. I think the original once have a type of mettalic strip/barcode on them. If anyone has same ticket could they please confirm. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7290 - 02/09/2015 16:07:36 1780753 Link 0 |

Cheers Croí. Surely tickets.ie know how many duplicates for tickets were sent out and could publish a list of barcodes? Probably wishful thinking. We could then check touts ticket barcode from that list to see if they were dodges. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7290 - 02/09/2015 16:49:31 1780795 Link 0 |
You'd think there'd be some way around it wouldn't you? Like someone else said, cancel all tickets that were posted and re-issue them but that would be the sensible thing to do. CroiGorm (Dublin) - Posts: 1547 - 02/09/2015 16:54:59 1780801 Link 0 |
I submitted a query to tickets.ie - GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7290 - 02/09/2015 17:16:45 1780809 Link 0 |
