Where do all the "good" tickets go?

(Oldest Posts First)

Have had great difficulty in securing a stand ticket for the final Sunday, have a hill ticket but would like a stand. Wasn't drawn for a stand ticket in my club so had to make do with the hill. But my club, and from talking to other county men, all other clubs in Galway seem to have got the scraps from Croke Park. Corner of the Hogan and Cusack, double letter rows under the canopies with TV's above you, same in Upper, with restricted views meaning the upper stand tickets are half price. Now., I know there isn't as such a bad seat in Croker, but who gets all the Cusacks 7/304-7/309, Hogans 7/329-7/334 sections? Speaking to a Kilkenny man last night he said the clubs there got pretty much the same poor selection Galway got.

Middle seats in Cusack go to season ticket holders anyway. Hogan...well politicans you name it.

GAA administrators (Secretaries, treasurers, chairmen, PRO, presidents) sponsors, former all ireland winners, politicans and brown nosers take up most of the good tickets.

TheRightStuff - Mayo and Dublin have both used up their full allocation of season tickets. I don't know the exact figures but its over 5,000 each.
10,000 would fill the middle lower cusack no? Some are in the upper also when they avail the "bring a friend" option.

i got a ticket from the brother for the 2005 all-ireland final right next to the players tunnel in the cusack stand. he got it from an inter-county hurler. there were several top hurlers at the time around this area. I'd say in general they go to sponsors, players or county board officials.

outside of your fancy men (corporate/sponsors) the amount of neutrals at finals I bet is not as big as people think.. Every club gets 2 tickets but more often than not they make their way to someone from the respective counties..

Yeah 305/306 is nearly all season ticket holders with some stretching to 307 and 304.
