Guess the GAA weren't happy with Joe's performance yesterday. New referee for replay will be Eddie Kinsella. TOB (USA) - Posts: 24 - 31/08/2015 16:49:48 1779195 Link 0 |
I thought it was policy that the same ref never gets the replay? slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 31/08/2015 16:54:04 1779203 Link 0 |
Surely the Ref should be from Ulster or Munster considering there are Leinster and Connaught teams involved........ Mollymalone (Dublin) - Posts: 1137 - 31/08/2015 16:59:32 1779211 Link 0 |
I think Eddie will be a lot tougher and a few lads better behave or could miss the final. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 31/08/2015 17:02:34 1779217 Link 0 |

Maybe a stray dog with a 360 degree camera attached to its head could be the answer for all these off the ball incidents!!!! slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 31/08/2015 17:10:30 1779227 Link 0 |

Thanks for getting me up to speed on that rule lads. 22 years in the states can make you a little forgetful on the rules ;-) TOB (USA) - Posts: 24 - 31/08/2015 17:19:21 1779232 Link 0 |

The scene was Leinster SFC 1983, Dubs vs Meath. Referee picks up the ball to commence proceedings, launches the ball into the air at which point the lad beside me on the Hill roars out "Ah yeh biased bastard ref" … kind of sums up the frustration we Dubs have felt with officials down the decades. OK the GAA have 5 days to sort out the absolute mess that is the officiating at these top games. Whatever body has to sit brown with Kinsella and this other six officials and devise a strategy where 'ALL' six draw the refs attention to foul play and to do this consistently throughout the game without fear of intimidation by players etc. If this is carried out in the first 10-15 mins this will set a precedent for the remainder of the game. I liked the way McQuillan consistently moved the ball forward for descent - it is consistency like this in all aspects of the rules that will change player attitudes! sam2008 (Tyrone) - Posts: 796 - 31/08/2015 18:24:38 1779298 Link 0 |
Well said sam2008 Dublin done it 2 for 3 times and each time it was moved forward. They stopped doing it shortly after. Refs never change their mind. You often wonder why GAA don't use approach of Rugby where only captain can speak to d ref. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 31/08/2015 19:09:14 1779333 Link 0 |

It appears that consistency means giving your team all the breaks. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 31/08/2015 19:55:39 1779383 Link 0 |

Eddie Kinsella is a top ref and will do an excellent job! BigJohn.6_8 (Galway) - Posts: 704 - 01/09/2015 10:28:30 1779624 Link 0 |
Knowing how the GAA always operates Kinsella will probably go overboard on Saturday. BIG SACKS (Tyrone) - Posts: 1681 - 01/09/2015 10:50:05 1779647 Link 0 |
