This is not for the Dublin and Mayo players this if for the GAA, SG and those who single out the few who are guilty of cheating. Review what you said a few weeks ago and what you say or do not say now. IsMise (Tyrone) - Posts: 119 - 31/08/2015 12:41:18 1778883 Link 0 |

So true but is it entertaining? slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 31/08/2015 13:14:08 1778930 Link 0 |
That is the thing. Yesterday was a highly entertaining contest and I look forward to the teams going at it again Saturday. BUT there is no doubt that when certain teams are playing the analysis is very different. What will kill Gaelic Football quicker is not tactics or playing the game on the edge but rather letting xenophobia dominate opinions and bringing in stupid, difficult to implement rules off the back of subsequent hysteria. I enjoyed yesterdays match. There was dull 0 minutes or so when Dublin looked to be easing to victory but apart form taht the whole game was played at a frantic pace up and down the field and there was lots of excitement. uibhfhaili1986 (Offaly) - Posts: 1296 - 31/08/2015 13:55:35 1778974 Link 0 |
Re the sunday game. They don't help themselves. Why did they have Whelan and McStay as their main analysts? Get 3 neutrals in. It became a bit of a farce, particularly Whelan - he will regret that when he looks at it. What difference does that make? He can regret it all he likes, the question was if it was a sending off offence. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 31/08/2015 13:58:04 1778978 Link 0 |
I was also wondering about the wisdom of having three analysts from the three counties still involved in the All-Ireland. Surely there's a conflict of interest when it comes to highlighting issues that might lead to a player getting suspended for the replay and/or final. Agree neutral main panel on the Sunday game is better. They could have a separate section from ex players regarding their county's perspective. poguemahone (Dublin) - Posts: 365 - 31/08/2015 16:06:52 1779135 Link 0 |

I watched the first half of the game on RTE but the commentary was woeful despite the game being dirty , dire & drab RTE are so negative the whole time. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 31/08/2015 16:57:34 1779207 Link 0 |

RTE usually try to strike a balance between the neutral pundits and pundits that have insight into the current panels and players being reviewed. One from each competing county and a neutral. Last night it led to the two lads trying not to add any amo to the CCCC. Marse (Dublin) - Posts: 217 - 31/08/2015 17:45:04 1779256 Link 0 |
