Connolly has to get off

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Diarmuid Connolly has to get off his red card cause he did nothing but wrestle with Lee Keegan absolutely nothing in it , just like I wanted Keane to play surely Connolly has to as well for doing nothing.

theres no way we will have suspensions
if anybody gets suspended from yesterdays game it would be cillian o connor
twice he was caught striking yet mcstay didnt say a word
he done rory o carroll after only a couple of minutes, which was a clear mayo tactic
as twice before o carroll got busted open, he was on top of him on the ground off the ball
and was only when o carroll went off that o shea went into full forward
then clear as day in the connolly sending off incident
o connor was the thrid man into the scene and clearly punches connolly on the deck
then turns to the ref saying connolly had a closed fist, yet nothing on the sunday game about it from any of them.
o connor didnt recieve a yellow card for either incident so can be done on video evidence.
linesman who informed the ref must have been blinkered as surely keegan had to get a black card
not a yellow card for his part, dublin were on the attack and video shows him turning towards connolly
pulling him to the ground by the head thats a black card not yellow card.
connolly sruck out yes but didnt the mayo player do the same when murphy of donegal was the one who started it in
the quarter final and he had his red card overturned, im sure our county board will be reminding them of this at an appeal.

This is laughable. I don't mind if he gets off but he did punch Keegan in the face with full force.

with the way the ccc are acting Connolly could well get off and i dont like bans for red cards anyway. But seriously he punched keegan on the ground its clearly seen in the footage saying other wise makes you look silly being honest lol

I think he will and should get off, I reckon he was sent off on reputation more than anything, although he was a bit wound up more than necessary all day. We need him anyway, cant see us winning it out without him, especially as Flynn has regressed a bit, yesterday he was dallying and looking to pass in positiona where he would have shot and scored in the past

If he struck out with the fist unfortunately he should be suspended, A clear replay should determine this.Funny thing is Dublin's rough house tactics yesterday nearly cost them a place in the All Ireland, Please revert back to their running game, They were by far better team.Management got tactics wrong yesterday, no need for Philly McMahon/Johnny Cooper acting the hard men.

I'll admit to disliking Kevin McStay, great football knowledge but fairly smug and often condescending towards the so-called lesser counties. He should stick to the analysis, one Judge Judy is enough. From coverage last night McMahon did not headbutt Aidan. It annoyed me to think a Mayo man would then start quoting subsections of the rule saying there was intent to try to have the incident revisited. A lot of stuff happened yesterday, game is over. Connolly card should be rescinded and may the best team win on Saturday.

if the rules are followed connolly mcmahon cooper oconnor and keegan should all be banned.. what is the point in having a ccc if they havent the balls to make a decision.. dont want to see a game without these players but rules in the GAA should not be made to be broken

Absolutely .....Connolly singled out , Keegan knew exactly what he was doing....very unsporting. Killian O'Connor defo gone, our full back gone after 3 mins of play with a head injury....in the week leadn up to the game all the hype was about how well Rory would do on O'Shea. A bit of a coincidence that we lost Rory after 3 mins...Very disappointed in Mc Stay last nite, he comments are normally fair an unbiased but don't think that was the case last nite...heres hopin justice is done before next Sat. and the CCC do their job...

He will get off. However, to be clear he will get off because we have no discipline in our association at this time of the year. We should all be ashamed of that. Kevin Keane gets off, Tiernan McCann gets off..Cillian O'Connor is likely to get off so in that sense it would indeed be unfair if Connolly got suspended. However, he did punch a player.

What we had on show yesterday was everything that is wrong with Gaelic football , it was a horrible game devoid of any skill levels and full of supposedly top class athletes going around as if they out on a saturday night looking for a fight ,if this is what the game has now come to I hope over the next 20 years that parents will see it for what it is and stop their chiildren playing .

The fact that no one knows how the CCCC will go on this outlines how unclear and inconsistent the rules are applied. Connolly fell for Keegans aggrevation and deserved a red. Coopers "tacckle" was appalling.

Molly get real will ye.

There is no way Cillian O'Connor meant to smash O'Carrolls face up.

Not unless he has eyes in the back of his bleedin head.

He couldnt see where O'Carrolls face was as he was running ahead of him.

If anything Rory was trying to foul him and O'Connor moved his arms to try get away from Rory, He caught him in the face accidently and thats it.

I dont think Rory was concussed, Just had an open wound that needed alot of care from the medics.

Think he might be okay for Saturday.

Dermo will be banned. He got a red and the replay clearly shows a strike on the ground. He/We can have no complaints.

All the rest is just bluster, they did this, we did that, so-and-so struck someone in the quarter final and got off with the cccc etc etc blah blah. Draw a line under yesterday and get on with Saturday.

Think people maybe need to sober up before posting here on Monday mornings. Some of the stuff on here this morning is ridiculous. Some balance wouldn't go a miss.

Wayne he was concussed he was puking up at half time that is the truth but it was an accident O Conor didn't mean it. But I couldn't imagine the CCCC suspending Connolly and McMahon and not suspending O Conor they wouldn't want to look like completely favouring one side, personally If O Conor was suspended we would win Mayo rely on him so much.

Ah lads stop the rubbish with Roc pulling and dragging as if he's the only player to do this every defender on both sides was at that all game and personally I'd be disappointed if my defenders weren't at that off the ball
