Dublin learning from last years hype

(Oldest Posts First)

Reading through various posts on hoganstand I see lots of Dublin fans tipping Mayo on Sunday.

Its very impressive to see Dublin learning from the hype surrounding the team prior to last years semi final with Donegal.

In their hearts i believe they fully expect to beat Mayo and are maybe they are learning a thing or two from the cute hoors in the south west.

Us Kerry fans have been accused of downplaying our chances in the past so we cant have any complaints if the dubs are doing the same now.

I even started to believe that Mayo would beat them on Sunday from everyone backing them on here but i wont be fooled..dublin by 4

Nothing cute or clever in down playing your chances and then being the biggest mouth around when you win , Ive predicted a Dublin win its not hype , its only hype when your team are shi73 and believe what you read in the papers and have an inabilty to analyse the game without ex players pundits etc
Ive given reasons I think we will win on main match thread ,equally Im aware that Mayo are a good team and capable of doing us as they have done previously , are fellas so wrapped up in themselves that on a website they cant or wont give an honest opinion as they are worried of the stick they will recieve if they lose , how sad .
Come Monday morning life goes on , I respect the lads that give their honest opinion , the so called cute hoorisim I find unbelievably annoying .

I think your right ky4, I hate to see cutehoorism spreading, but it's become rampant ;-) the hype was over the top last year though, but most was actually cutehooring from other counties. Dubs by 1 on sunday, hope the match is as good as I'm expecting, we like to win in style!

I think the majority of the country were pretty convinced Dublin would beat Donegal last year not just the Dubs.

As for cute hoorism, I really wish admin would block those threads. There's nothing worse than certain posters who fight tooth and nail for their county on one thread and then start that pretentious muck on another, too obvious and completely worn out at this stage.

You may be right but its understandable the hype surrounding the dubs last year as they were amazing in the league and up to the game against Donegal.

We had the same issue in the noughties with Tyrone especially in 03 and 05. We fully expected to beat them but our over confidence came back to hurt us in the end. They werent shown the respect they deserved by the management teams at the time and we expected to turn up on the day without having a proper game plan.

You can't win. You say your team is going to win you're seen as being arrogant. You say your team is going to lose you are accused of cutehoorism. From now on I'm going for a draw. That should keep everyone happy.

Totally proud of how I thought the Dubs on here to be 'modern day, urban cute hoors' rather than the less sophisticated 'dry aul codger, schleeveen cute hoor'!
I've created a monster though, as my fellow Dubs have gone mad having fun with it nowadays!!!

Snufalufagas,

welcome back. Do you see yourself as a modern Dublin version of Michael Collins?

Dublin very weak at the back. Rory O Carroll is very vulnerable. I expect mayo to score goals and not necessarily through Aidan O Se or Cillian O connor.

Both teams very evenly matched.....this will go right to the wire, whoever wins will literally win by a point or two or its highly likely we could all be headn back to HQ the following Sat for a replay. Just hope we all get the spectacle that both teams are capable of serving up....no room for arrogance here, it will be a hard fought win, edge of the seat stuff but I reckon could be the best game of the entire season....Cmon the Dubs !!!!!
