If Mayo don't win Sam this year...

They wont for a very long time to come.

Everyone is expectant.

The country awaits the clash of number 2 and 3 in the country.

Most will be wanting a Mayo victory. Understandable.

Mayo without doubt have an insatiable hunger.

But their opponents this weekend wont be fazed in the slightest.

We've been there.

We've done it.

We've won the big one twice in the last 4 years by the smallest of margains.

We've nothing to prove to anyone and this team goes out on sunday under no pressure whatsoever.

Even alot of our fans on here expect Mayo to win. (I don't though)

The weight of the world is on your shoulders.

Its time to deliver Mayo.

Doing it against Donegal in a half empty stadium against an aging team is one thing.

Doing it against Dublin is another type of test..

We're ready, Are you ?

Sink or Swim boys.

This is your time, Have you the bottle ?

People have been writing off Mayo for years saying "if they don't do it now they never will" but they keep coming back for more.

They've some resilience these men.

I'm not sure how ready are the Dubs from what I've seen this year.

It'll be close. Heart says Dublin, head says Mayo.

I think the winner of this game will beat Kerry though.

You were ready for donegal too and completely bottled that one - probably the biggest example of bottling in gaa history.

Why would it have to be this year? The same thing has been said for the last 3 years. The fact is our top guys are probably younger than the main guys of every other top county.

We haven't even peaked yet...

At end of the day its only a game. The death of Darragh Doherty put things into perspective. I hope Mayo win in what is tough week for Mayo football

Stupid thread.
We bury one of our former minor stars first tomorrow. I think it has knocked the stuffing out of many people in the county especially in South Mayo. The match will take care if itself. If we win great, if we don't then so be it. We will be back again sometime. We always do.

would echo that.

It's such a tough one to call, I do think the winner will beat Kerry unless they pick up a few injuries to key players.

2012 final for me Master....beat the 2011 Champs off the park in the first 50 minutes of the semi final and then let(in my opinion a far inferior) Donegal team beat ye....now if that's not bottling then I don't know what is to be honest man.

If they don't win it this year....... they could still win it next year.. Dublin in the 90s is a perfect example

New management team is a huge factor here and it should not be underestimated.

2 excellent sides, I would say Dublin would have the best team and panel..

However it is so close and to hard to call

2013 was there for the taking and they couldn't do it. The dubs didn't play at all that final. I'm sick of looking at them loose finals to be honest. I would love to see them do it at last but I can't see them getting over that thing of freezing in finals.

They bounced back from gut-wrenching defeats in each of the last 3 years. If they don't win it this year, I'm sure they will be back challenging in the semi-finals again next year. No pressure on Dublin? That's a good one - if the Dubs lose on Sunday, their season will be regarded as a complete failure and heads will roll.

If Mayo dont win then they come back again next year.

I think Dublin will win this.

I also think Gavin is under serious pressure if they dont do the business.

Mayo will win 4/5 Connaughts becuase Galway et al are not coming like some say they are ( unless Rossies pull a shape) so they will be putting themselves in a good position every year so whether they do or not , I think they will be in the shake up most years .
