Kerry footballers get less credit that any side

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

After reading much of todays game write ups there seems to be a belief That Tyrone lost the game, instead of Kerry winning it. In 2008 when Tyrone came back and finished off the match with 4 great points they were praised. Kerry do the same yesterday, after losing a 5 point lead and they get very little recognition. The gist of most reports is that the referee over assisted Kerry yesterday. Rubbish, calls were made, as in every game, Kerry may get the rub of the green on some calls but seriously, they have calls against them as well. The Kerry forwards won the game yesterday, they could finish chances, Tyrone are not yet at that level. That is obvious by the goal chances they lost those chances yesterday. If Kerry had those goal chances they would have probably bagged a couple of them. Kerry will, beat Dublin but not Mayo.

You cant expect people to fear an average team especially when you consider the swagger and aura the Blue Juggernaut possess. Just sit back and enjoy the fact that we are in another final as huge underdogs with no pressure.

Are you really surprised when you get the same old waffle like the offering above.

I think the amount of All Ireland medals the Kerry team possess make your statement irrelevant.
The only "Credit" GAA players understand is medals.

My own county don't get a lot of credit outside of Connaught and rightly so (until we win an All Ireland)

So the consensus on HS and elsewhere that we didnt win the match tyrone lost it and that kerry are lucky and so forth. Yet the kerry posters are slagged for saying the same thing. Well we wont bow down and accept your double standards

#Siege against Kerry

I think its a matter of expectation from the media. If you were to pick the last 4 at the start of the championship I don't think Tyrone would have been in many of the the picks after getting relegated from the League and haven't made a convincing challenge since 08 & 13, Monaghan and Donegal would have got a shout cause of the Ulster final. A lot of people thought Kerry would wipe the floor with Tyrone, I don't think its anything to be afraid of in all honesty, less things said about you the better.

Ah sure look, the referee might as well have been wearing a green jersey. This Kerry team is unstoppable, whether as a result of their supreme skill levels, and masterful tactics from the line, or whether as a result of helpful decisions from the 16th man, in black. Hand Sam back to them now as they are worthy back to back winners.

Kerry are a great GAA county. But they should concentrate now on their hurlers. Last year they were really lucky. They did'nt play Dublin in the final, and were "gifted" the semi final by the GAA and a naive Mayo outfit. I wish Galway and Connacht teams were shown the same level of respect by the powers that be in the GAA.

Kerry are no underdogs no matter who they meet.

Limerick people will know more than most (holidays, stag parties, searching for ladies down there) of the manic belief they have in their footballers down there. The desire to win is insatiable. They demand an All-Ireland every year. I'd say most Kerry fans believe they will dispatch either side who comes through on Sunday.

As for getting credit - I think most posters on this board give Kerry lots of credit. The stuff about refs is raised but that's what a discussion board is all about. Everyone realises Kerry are out in front in terms of success and if Kerry do win there would be a lot of respect gained for back to back title wins.

Would ye ever give over with that oul' Blue Juggernaut 'aura' guff!!!! The cute hoorsim is getting tiresome at this stage -try another schtick! You must think we're all total gobsh*tes up here. The Dubs have no aura - you have the aura of being champions, winning Sam more than any other county & and you demolished Kildare. Behind this cute hoorism is the smug assumption that ye all ye have to do is turn up and take 'your' trophy back.

They are the most cynical team in Ireland hands down. Plus talking about blanket defences they were even more defensive than tyrone at the weekend the amount players they had back yet the commentators only commented on tyrone having players back. The media and match officials are afraid of Kerry Gaa

I believe it was the former Dublin U21 stalwart who said "You say it best when you say nothing at all"

A big loss to the GAA but a bigger loss to music.

Not true, Kerry have the highest foul count of all the teams in the Semis.

Don't agree with any of that. They were too good for Mayo & saw them off. What's the supposed luck about not playing the Dubs? They were level with 65 minutes gone in the 2013 semi and Dublin were just too good. Donegal were too good for Dublin. Kerry were too good for Donegal. That's life.

You have to feel sorry for them. Some nights I cry myself to sleep thinking about the injustices and hardships suffered by Kerry GAA.

Footballer's don't give a fiddlers what the media think about them. They just want to win. It's fairly simple

Thank you to the few posters who have made my point more valid. To clear the air, I think Tyrone played very well on Sunday and displayed some fabulous football. Both teams committed an equal amount of controversial fouls, etc. Unfortunately these things are in todays game, I do not like it mind you, just play the game I say. Mayo and Dublin will no doubt offer us a fine 70 minutes on Sunday, I can't wait. Hesitant to repent another point I made but Tyrone or Kerry would beat thj Dubs, a mental thing I feel. Regardless, this may be Mayo's year.
