Good effort from Galway yesterday but to be honest I never got carried away about this team. They had fortunate win against Derry but this talk about Galway being back at the top table surprised me. When Donegal increased the intensity and got going Galway were a long way off the pace. This is a Donegal team that will have a huge battle with Mayo. I do not think we will be seeing Mayo's dominance of the province being realistically tested for a couple of years. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 999 - 02/08/2015 10:57:06 1762284 Link 0 |
Agree, Galway were hammered by a Donegal team on their way down . We were in 2-3 gear yesterday and still cruised. If that was Mayo yesterday , they would have destroyed . Galway are a long long way of the top table . Mayo might regress a little but should continue to dominate the province . TheRightStuff (Donegal) - Posts: 1688 - 02/08/2015 11:08:02 1762294 Link 0 |
That all very good and well but we need Sam and anything less at this stage is deemed failure. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11219 - 02/08/2015 11:25:26 1762299 Link 0 |

Roscommon are also over there, and are now a Division 1 side. Galway were the equal of Donegal yesterday for long spells but inexperience and a lack of physique told in the end, I'd expect them to be much better for this year's run next year. I was expecting more from Galway yesterday.I believe Mayo will batter Donegal the next day and probably do 6 in a row in Connacht next year. Condorman (Dublin) - Posts: 983 - 02/08/2015 20:42:37 1762764 Link 0 |
I thought Donegal were a pale shadow of themselves yesterday they looked like their Captain is struggling for form the ship looked rudderless and rumors of mutiny among the crew lead by midshipman McHugh . However that being said when ship started to feel it was going to get swept aside by a Maroon tide they battered down the hatches and steered a course to the safety of westport Harbor and a meeting of Mayo in calmer seas ....Dont think Captain Murphy and the good ship Donegal will sink like the Titanic ,they have more Buoyancy than a Katie price wonder bra. fortyfive (Tyrone) - Posts: 5929 - 02/08/2015 21:02:03 1762782 Link 0 |
