I'd agree with 99% of that team, I would have Aidan o 'Shea instead of Ciaran Kilkenny and Paul geaney at fullforward.

No mention of the top scorer Sean Quigley?? maybe this links to another thread showing how under rated he is.

exactly, mark collins corner forward and he barely crosses the 45 yard line. also ryan wylie is not a full back and peter harte plays half back

No idea what Durcan's done to get there, I am sure there has been a better goalkeeper than him somewhere in the country
other than that it seems about right

MonaghanGlory if you're so sure there's been a better keeper then name him. Durcan hasn't put a foot wrong all year and has been exposed for goal chances a lot more than would be expected - only conceded against Tyrone and made big saves in all of the games so far.

Quigley has 9 points from play in the championship and 7 of those came agasinst Antrim, from the reports from Fermanagh men at the game he was woeful against Roscommon and missed free after free. He's a good player who probably doesn't get media attention he deserves but that will always be the case.

James Horan claimed Damien Comer had been one of the three best players in the championship so far, he'd be more deserving of a place than Mark Collins currently. It doesn't matter anyhow and All Stars are picked at the end of the championship for a reason.

Would disagree that Peter Harte is a half back. He has played half back, midfield and half forward. Could and does play anywhere.

At the end of the day at least 10 of the players selected for all stars will come out of the All Ireland final. Provincial championships and leagues are quickly forgotten by the selectors.

Sunday games lack of coverage to the smaller teams is evident. If anyone has watched any championship football this year Eoin Donnelly would have to be considered for a midfield berth. Irish news motm on a losing side against Monaghan. Considered by many to be the MOTM against Roscommon. I know there is a certain sense of county bias but if he was wearing a Dublin or Kerry jersey i genuinely think he would be lauded as the new Daragh O'Se or Ciaran Whelan.

Yeah he's a great keeper but from what I've heard the Galway Keeper has been impressive , Rory Beggan just as good as Durcan so far , had a good defense in front of him meaning he didn't have to make as many saves ,
these days there's more to goalkeepers than saving
Cluxton hasn't exactly put a foot wrong either

Wylie is not a full back and Collins is not a full forward, but not sure anyone else has really stood up. Paul Geaney was good in the replay so giving it to him.
Harte wears no. 7 on his back but doesn't really play as a wing back.
I would definitely have him in the team and there hasn't really been another outstanding wing forward. Donnacha Walsh has done a decent job but not All Star material. Bryan Sheehan has been good and could probably make a case for a place with Kilkenny on the wing.

Ryan Wylie is not a full back, correct, but he has been good. As has Rory O'Carroll, Marc O'Se and Aidan O'Mahoney was a rock against Cork but not sure any have done enough to get in ahead of Wylie.

All fun and games anyway, none of these positions will be close to decided until the 3rd weekend in September.

Yeah there's more to goalkeeping than saving - I would definitely have Beggan in there. He deserves it for being down injured for at least 2.5-3 minutes and then the way he got up right away and miraculously hit the ball out 60 yards! Then only 3 minutes of injury time added on at end of game for all stoppages!

Didn't know the All Stars were determined on how long a player spends down injured , If Durcan deserves it come September that's fine by me but I feel there is more than him in the running at the moment

Sure if you want to look at playing against the big teams then none of the Dublin players should be in that selection, they have only played Kildare, Westmeath and Longford or someone like that. Same with Mayo players but then again they played against galway who are a decent side. Quigley should be in for a shout, I'm not too sure why Peter Harte is in there he had a good game against tipp. I don't think he has been out best player this year but don't get me wrong he is a vital part of our Tyrone team

I wouldnt have cluxton in goals, he hasnt played a decent team yet to validate an all star. As excellent as he may be, there is no way of justifying greatness by facing down westmeath or longford.

FTS thought he had a great game against Donegal in the first round. Ive been impressed with Harte and he has been racking the points up in the fantasy football for me.
