Kerry No 3?

The All Ireland champions and a team with a relatively straight forward route to a semi-final now.

Dublin and Mayo above them and they have beaten no one of consequence so far.

Bizarre stuff....

Tyrone ahead of Monaghan and Donegal....I don't think so.

Laughable really.

"Mayo have shown a ruthless streak we haven't seen before, as evident in their demolition of Sligo in the Connacht Final" - lol

"In three games this season the Dubs have scored 11-56 and conceded just 0-30. They have learned their lessons from last years ambush by Donegal with Cian O'Sullivan brilliantly leading a water tight defense" - Our defense is totally untested.

Cork and Tyrone ahead of Monaghan, not sure how they can arrive at that conclusion. This is what I would go with:

1. Dublin
2. Kerry
3. Mayo
4. Monaghan
5. Donegal
6. Tyrone
7. Cork
8. Galway
9. Fermanagh
10. Kildare
11. Westmeath
12. Sligo

My preference is to focus on the Top 7:
1. Kerry - Defending champions and winner of the most difficult provincial final. No other team has beaten a higher placed league team.
2. Dublin - The dominant Dubs are league champions and winners of a Division 3 level provincial championship.
3. Mayo - Like Kerry and Dublin, they have retained their provincial crown. They again are winners of a lower level provincial championship, untested by a Division 1 opponent so far in the championship.
4. Monaghan - Ulster champions for the second time in 3 years. Division 1 semi-finalists as well. They've been consistent enough all year. They were next after Kerry in terms of beating a high placed league team.
5. Donegal - League semi-finalists, All-Ireland runners-up from last year and Ulster runners-up this year. They were not too far away.
6. Cork - League and Munster runners-up.
7. Tyrone - A lot of people are talking about the Top 6. Tyrone are the next best team after that group. They are well capable of making the All-Ireland final. They are the championship dark horses.

Winners of the national league and a div 3 championship!

Kerry have beaten who besides Cork!? And it's not like Cork are in the Mayo/Kerry/Dublin/Donegal/Monaghan bracket.

For all the waffling on here, the real games always happen at the quarter final stage, until then it's pie in the sky.

Couldn't argue with any of your post. Monaghan and Donegal joint 4th couldn't split them on current form

Jim, I'd swop Cork and Tyrone in your list but otherwise think that's a pretty fair reflection.

Donegal may still have something to say with regards the All-Ireland they have beaten teams of the standard of Tyrone, Armagh and Derry which I think is better than anyone else so far in the championship. If they beat Galway then a quarter final against Mayo could be some prospect. If Tyrone beat Sligo then a quarter final tie with Monaghan will also be hard to call.

Kerry number one until they get taken out, and given their handy run in that should be the final at the earliest. Donegal behind them as they were close last year and should come back through to give Mayo a serious challenge. Mayo themselves were very close last year, should of made the final bar bad luck with the ref and conceding a goal that they really should of prevented. Then the Dubs, a shambles defensively last year, time will tell if lessons are learned. Cork above Monaghan as they have proven in the past they can raise their game, perhaps not at the moment to win it out but there could be a big win in them. Monaghan behind all the rest until they take it outside of Ulster. I wouldn't be overly concerned with the rest at the moment but Tyrone or Galway may spring a surprise.

Agree kerry had the toughest provincial final and toughest province. If Tipp, Limerick, Clare or Waterford in any other province they would be competing for provincial honours

LLG there's no point in getting worked up over people ranking Kildare above Westmeath the fact of the matter is both of them are well below the standard of the the majority of the teams left and both deserve to be in division 3. There isn't a whole lot between them.

1. Kerry - reigning champions, provincial winners
2. Mayo - should have made last year's final, provincial winners
3. Dublin - league winners & provincial winners
4. Monaghan - beat last year's runners up, provincial winners
5. Donegal - last year's finalists, provincial finalists
6. Cork - league finalists, took last years winners to replay in provincial final
7. Tyrone - improving with every game since provincial championship exit, have astute manager
8. Galway - on the up again similar to last year's display against Kerry, play well in Croke Park
9. Westmeath - good showing against Meath and first half of provincial final
10.Kildare - dire provincial championship but have regained some form and confidence since then
11.Sligo - good local derby win but totally out of depth in provincial decider
12.Fermanagh - the lucky team of the qualifiers so far and gained league promotion

Top two (Kerry & Mayo) to make final in my opinion.
