Dublin 11/10 Mortgage job

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Ok they haven't been tested yet but looking at the quality of the other teams so far, Dublin have to be nailed on for the AI. 11/10 is free money. This time 3 months, I will have 2 houses :)

Only Donegal can beat them.

Kerry can beat them. Foolish to rate any of them before quarter finals but Deonegal and Kerry have actually been tested in the championship.

Too early to be at this chat. but of all the teams in the competition, Dublin have the best chance of winning it.

Rewind twelve months Cavanman to last year..people were saying exactly the same thing..championship this year is wide open
Whichever team plays Dublin in the last eight whether it be Cork or Kerry will not go down without a fight. Get past that and they probably will have Mayo in the semi final and maybe Donegal in the final, who beat them last year by six points.

Some people never learn and jump on the Dublin bandwagon..at least let them win a few competitive games first before we hand SAM over from its rightfull place in the kingdom.

Too true. Fact is the pick of Kerry cork mayo and Donegal wouldn't beat Dublin, only a fluke like last year can stop them.
The biggest challenge Dublin a team will get this year is from the dubs b team

I know it's a stupid conversation to have in july but it looks massive right now, as it probably did this time last year. But I think they will have learned from their mistakes from last year. donegal won't beat them this year. I thought kerry were the only threat until the weekend but can't see how their defence is going to stop the Dublin forwards.

Their defence has never been great, but their attack will be lethal when it comes down the business end of the championship.

Nope, your trying too hard, you need to tone it down a bit. Yerraism needs to be subtle and calculated. This is a poor attempt.

Dubs haven't been tested. All Ireland Champions Kerry are a sure thing. Between themselves and Donegal.

kerry a sure thing, but its between them and donegal? surely a sure thing eliminates everyone else!

seriously though, Dublin should be much shorter than 11/10. of course they can be caught on an off day but the value is there.

I'm going to presume that's a tongue in cheek remark RD, that win was no fluke, given the level of opposition Dublin have met so far it's pure stupid to have them as untouchable to win an All Ireland, lots of twists and turns yet

Can't agree with you NYC.

Granted, they are a fine side who play very attractive attacking football. If you allow them tot hey will humiliate you, but there are weaknesses there for a strong team to work on.

Going forwards they are without peer but going backwards they have been found out. They have shown signs of shoring things up in that dept but the suspicion is that good solid defence is not their way & if the opposition can nullify Cluxton's kickouts & get a grip in a less than stellar midfield then they are in with a chance.

Dublin's biggest problem though is that they won't know until late on in the championship whether the opposition has them sussed as they come under no pressure at all in Leinster. Challengers from Ulster & Munster will already be road hardened by August wheras Dublin's toughest games will be in training & that is no use whatsoever.

They are deserving favourites, but there are three or four really tough teams coming to Croke Park in August/September & I wouldn't be putting my humble abode on any of them.

Muckross of course your points are valid and everyone likes to point to 'look what happened last year'. But remember last year Kerry annihilated cork in the munster final so an all Ireland challenge had to be expected. This year Kerry were very lucky against an average cork team who Dublin destroyed in the league final. So I don't see either of those teams bothering Dublin, especially with Kerry's defence. In fact if Dublin beat Donegal last year they would've beat Kerry quite easily.

Discounting Mayo, Donegal remain the only realistic team capable of stopping Dublin. But I just don't think they are as good this year, especially if they continue to play Murphy out the field. They're not scoring enough. There is also the argument for Donegal being too battle hardened by the time they come across the rest of Ireland teams. God forbid murphy gets injured, as he is sure to get some rough treatment from monaghan. And surely Jim Gavin has spent the year plotting a rematch against Donegal or likewise defensive systems….

11/10 is a stupid price for Dublin to win All Ireland at this stage. To possibly have to beat Cork/Kerry,Mayo and Donegal, you must be off your rocker lad.If you gave me 11/10 v Kerry in quarter final,id have to seriously think about it.No wonder Paddy Powers made record profits last year.

Dublin will have to play 3 teams from Cork, Kerry, Mayo & Donegal. I agree they are the best team in Ireland but not a sure thing. If your a gambling man you should know the bookies are never that far off.
