Looking at next weeks hurling qualifiers, while there are some good matchups on offer, the luck of the draw when it comes to qualifier opponent seems an unfair way to decide a counties summer. Cork v Wexford is the pick of the bunch, 2 great hurling counties, and 2 teams hurling needs to be competing. But after next week, the hurling year for one of them is over. If Cork lose, kids in Cork will only have seen their team in championship action twice this year. It doesn't make sense from a hurling promotion point of view. I loved that system even though we never got to experience it. Just one little critique though. Can we be in the group with laois and offaly please? :) Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 2624 - 27/06/2015 19:03:26 1743484 Link 0 |
There is no need for the previously used group system when Galway and Antrim are allowed into the Leinster Championship. The current qualifier draw could use league placing to seed teams for the first round. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7817 - 28/06/2015 08:46:15 1743605 Link 0 |
