A novel pairing for sure and admittedly I'm not an astute follower of the Limerick football scene but I would expect the red hands to win this one. Tyrone by 6 brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 24/06/2015 16:14:40 1742197 Link 0 |
Undoubtedly Tyrone are favourites for this one by at least 6/8 points. They will still have a big say in the winning of this championship. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 24/06/2015 16:27:03 1742205 Link 0 |
Well Tyrone should win this by 10. Gaelic football is a long way behind rugby, hurling and soccer in the Treaty county. But they ll hit hard and have a few good players BanTarleton (Clare) - Posts: 181 - 24/06/2015 16:29:52 1742207 Link 0 |
A novel pairing alright. Both sides have never met in the championship. Limerick are making great strides under John Brudair and should have beaten Clare but this will be a easy 10 point + win for Tyrone. PortInFaithful (Offaly) - Posts: 472 - 24/06/2015 16:33:16 1742211 Link 0 |

That doesn't say anything about who left. I think the only player to leave this time was ryan mc kenna. there was word Mc Namee was gonna but looks like hes in it for the summer. Very positive for tyrone as he would have been a massive loss. redhanddefender (Tyrone) - Posts: 913 - 24/06/2015 17:00:16 1742230 Link 0 |
Would love to see Lee Brennan getting a run out, seen him a good bit for St Micks and i heard he shot the lights out for Trillick in the Chamnpionship a couple of weeks back. Very promising young player. So_it_is (Fermanagh) - Posts: 40 - 24/06/2015 17:12:35 1742236 Link 0 |
I heard our Kerry junior team took on the limerick seniors in a challenge game last week and the Kerry juniors won by 3 points and the Kerry juniors were missing a few players due to injury. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 24/06/2015 17:36:44 1742249 Link 0 |
I would like to see lee start to although very young maybe he could make the other pretenders buck up their act. He was very good in championship but it was against poor enough opposition. Hope mickey starts him but I would imagine we will see him at some point, has pace to burn! redhanddefender (Tyrone) - Posts: 913 - 24/06/2015 17:43:01 1742252 Link 0 |
The Limerick team of 2004 - 2010 might have put it up to Tyrone, but the current one is a good bit below that level unfortunately. county man (Limerick) - Posts: 1102 - 24/06/2015 20:33:14 1742297 Link 0 |

Tyrone at home, injury free, plenty of time to prepare - I'm aware that this will sound disrespectful to Limerick, but Tyrone should be winning this by 12+ if we have any hope of a run this summer. Thomas Clarke (Tyrone) - Posts: 1002 - 25/06/2015 09:32:52 1742361 Link 0 |

The Limerick team is quite inexperienced at the moment, and it will be a few more years before we can hope for the competitiveness of the 2003 to 2010 era. Having to travel to Omagh, and to play at 4pm on a Sunday evening, is an added disadvantage, as only the small diehard core of limerick football supporters will be tempted to travel. A home game in Newcastlewest, for example, might have stirred the interest of the general GAA public. Maybe there's an argument to be made for giving lower-ranked teams home advantage in the early rounds of the qualifiers? football first (None) - Posts: 1259 - 25/06/2015 12:41:52 1742506 Link 0 |
Hopefully the bookies have got it right with the 10 point spread on the handicap. Tyrone do need to make a statement as the backdoor looks a tough one to crack this year. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1780 - 25/06/2015 13:12:52 1742531 Link 0 |
Probably the worst part of the qualifier series these early rounds to be honest...Shouldn't really be playing each other but here you are, neither team likely to learn anything from this game that will stand to them next year. Well, we won, not a lot more to be taken from that performance unless they were a bit rusty from the gap since they played Donegal in what seems a lifetime ago. Hoping for a decent draw tomorrow otherwise we'll be joining our illustrious cousins from Down on the sidelines. brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 28/06/2015 19:48:13 1744068 Link 0 |
Look disappointed with the result even though i didnt think we would pull it off, however massive congrats to the huge limerick following that travelled up, must of been 300/400 or us there today for that long trip. Tyrone while sluggish will use the qualifers tot weak their team and get things together with the lieks o mark bradley coming on Caseys89 (Limerick) - Posts: 80 - 28/06/2015 21:56:33 1744213 Link 0 |
