2015 All-Ireland Qualifiers

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Round 1A
London v Cavan
Kildare/Laois loser v Antrim
Longford v Carlow
Waterford v Offaly

Round 1B
Tyrone v Limerick
Louth v Leitrim
Armagh/Donegal loser v Meath/Wicklow loser
Westmeath/Wexford loser v Down

So now we have confirmation of the first round of the Qualifiers any potential shocks on the cards? Any too close to call? Where does the smart money go?

If by some chance we are playing Tyrone, the mechanic from Coronation Street, then maybe we have a chance. But that draw is about as tough as our lads could have got.

Round 1A
London v Cavan - Cavan to win this one pulling up.

Kildare/Laois loser v Antrim - Kildare or Laois shouldn't have too many problems beating Antrim.

Longford v Carlow - Longford with home advantage should beat Carlow.

Waterford v Offaly - Offaly to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Longford.

Round 1B
Tyrone v Limerick - Tyrone will be delighted with this draw and should win comfortably.

Louth v Leitrim - Probably the toughest game to call. I'll sit on the fence and say a draw!

Armagh/Donegal loser v Meath/Wicklow loser - I'll predict Armagh v Wicklow. Armagh to win with a bit to spare.

Westmeath/Wexford loser v Down - I'll predict Wexford v Down. Down should win comfortably.

Yeah slayer a bit like ourselves in that of all the teams we could have got in our draw the one we got was probably the toughest we could have got and similary, if we are maybe playing the Dr off telly or a team of thon things you use to stop your dog running away then we might have a chance.

Away to London. Nice. Planning a weekend at the moment.
Pity there's no back door for New York. That would have been nicer.

I don't mean to offend Wexford, but I hope Westmeath beat ye. I would absolutely love a trip down to Wexford Park, a ground I've never been to. The qualifiers aren't all that bad, looking forward to another away day in the championship already.

Heads will roll. Where is the usual all ulster clash of two decent sides. Was fully expecting Tyrone/loser of Donegal/Armagh. Obviously somebody didnt get the memo ahead of the draw to load the dice.

Good draw for Tyrone and the first Munster opposition outside Cork & Kerry in the championship. Good not to be meeting familiar Ulster opposition, Limerick will be made most welcome.

Was thinking the same myself seanie08 though given the stronger teams in Ulster are stuck on one side it is inevitable they will hit each other soon enough.

I do feel that bad and all as Antrim are that we could have been at least a little optimistic with any other draw than the one we got.

Limerick will get a good welcome, I doubt any Kerry fan would travel that far to support their team to know what the welcome is like up there.

Good draw for us, tough enough opposition but still at home!

On yesterdays showing, I think Down could be the surprise slip up of the year

KingdomBoy we should say Congratulations to Kerry for making it to Round 2 of the Qualifiers without any bad incidents or even football matches.

Happy enough with the draw and I say Leitrim are in the same boat. I was hoping for a trip to Carrick but Drogheda it is.

Thanks tyroneed
We have to take the good with the bad down here. In fairness the qualifiers never really bothers us down ere and we are the only team with a 100% record in them. Personally I wouldnt mind getting knocked out on Sunday by tipp and get a rattle of ye'r selfs , it would be sweet, and a good warm up game before we take on the dubs in the quarters.

That's the thing Finsceal - both would expect to be in round 2 of the qualifiers and on the side that they would fancy their chances against all teams in it so is it better to get a nice game against Antrim to progress or a tanking from Dublin?

So are we saying then bet on a high number of wides in the Kildare/Laois replay?
