Naming rights

(Oldest Posts First)

Anyone else think this is a joke? Last thing id want to see is "barrys tea celtic park", "Pearse supermacs Stadium" or "croke a cola park"

Why?
If they are daft enough to think people will buy more of their product then let them off. Who cares what it is called? What does it matter? I wont buy any more of their product than I need, regardless of what they do. So let them throw as much money at the gaa as they like.

Doesn't bother me. If they were to rename Croke Park I'll still call it Croke Park, in the same way it'll always be Lansdowne Road and The Point.

I'm hoping Pairc Tailteann get's a stadium sponsor, we could really use the money, the place is a total kip.

Now getting your point

Kingspan have been named on breffini park for years ???
I dont see the issue and if it generates money for limerick gaa more power to them .. Seems a good figure and will help on alot of levels.

maybe cork will name their new statium

i dont see how its a major deal

following that train of thought Navan could sell it's naming rights

Sure the country itself could use a few quid so how about "lucky charm cereal land"

I don't think it really matters, the smaller counties need the money and it's not going to change how people refer to it,like most people call Elverys McHale Park its original name 'McHale Park' I'm sure it's the same with Innovate Wexford Park and Netwatch Dr. Cullen. Changing the name of Cork Park is a different story altogether...

htaem navan has never been right since the last time dublin played there
they miss us badly
league final against westmeath of division 2 if memory serves me right
the year of the battle of donnycarney which had most of our team standing on the grass hill watching a dublin 15 play haha
got a great tip that day in paddy powers down there off a meath man
on raglan road was the horse name absolutly hammered home
always backed the trainer since as he told me whenever he runs a horse it usualy wins and hes been pretty spot on.
navan tayto park could be a runner haha

on the limerick one i cannot see how anybody would buy the naming rights of the gaelci grounds
they are now going to play most of their home league games in rathkeale
as there is a new ground development going there for the munster council and it was part of the deal
that limerick play league games there
so unless jp mcmannus buys them rights be hard to see anybody forking out 140 thousand

Hill16, for all the interest Limerick give to the league they could play their games in a club field never mind Rathkeale. I can't see anyone giving 140k for the naming right of a stadium which will only be used for any match of interest about 2 or 3 times a year. And even if it did got ahead I think it will be wasted money because the Gaelic Grounds will always be called just that.

Advertising does work.....trust me. Companies are not stupid. People who say "oh that never works on me" well its works on plenty or advertising would not be a multi million euro business.

You's played us there in January hill, that was a good occasion, the place was nearly full. Ye we're thinking of Tayto Pairc Tailteann, good name that, nice and crisp :-)

Celtic Park is a poor name, it should be called St Columba park or something
