Wexford Minor Review Committee

Seems bizarre. Is this happening solely because Westmeath minor hurlers beat ye? Is it to do with the colleges teams?

Do they not also need a minor football review??

No. Apparently, they beat Westmeath in minor football so it's all good!

Football is very much our second sport lads. This isn't a new thing either. It was an absolute disaster to lose to them after the work we've put in so we need to sort the problem before it gets bigger. Kilkenny did the very same thing a few years back after we beat them.

That's a very good Westmeath side, lad.

It should be done in minor football also we have not been in a minor football final since 1999 loss to Dublin hardly a fantastic record.

I see Kildare had a very good performance last night against the Wexford u21 - last years All Irl finalists - maybe ye are not as strong as ye think ye are ? Hard to keep both codes going

Their a good team, maybe Kildare are stronger than you think they are? Not that hard to keep both codes going.

I'm aware that's a good westmeath team alright. Big strong physical side and not short of skill but we'd have hoped to be a little bit ahead of them.

I'm also aware of the gallant efforts of that kildare 21 team. It was a competitive first half but I don't think Wexford were ever in any real danger. I'd be expecting a very big year from our 21s this season.

Conor McDonald is on that U21 team...class hurler! Many other seniors on it? Jack Guiney or Gary Moore?

Gurney and Moore are overage. Conor Devitt Liam Ryan Eoin Conroy Andrew Kenny Kevin Foley and Paudie Foley are all part of the senior set up. Expect a tough game away to Offaly in the semi but we undoubtedly have the talent to go a long way in u21 this year

keeper7, I think the issue is that we did not have 1 person on the team from the northern half of the county and I think part of the question is why, are there no good hurlers up there or was there a certain southern bias part of the setup?

Also I think the other question is are we emphasising early season mickey mouse competitions instead of focusing on blooding players and building players physically for when the big games come around.

But as always, people will have different opinions!
