Predictions?
Tyrone to get one over on Donegal after a poor few years against them.

Would be surprised to see Tyrone win this one to be honest.

Donegal seem to have the measure of Tyrone in the last few years and I haven't seen any reason that the Red Hands can overcome their neighbours in Ballybofey.

One things for sure, it wont be a classic.

Neither team will want to get beat, sitting about waiting for their next opponents in the back door.

There'll be blanket defence's aplenty, lateral hand passing and goalie taken free kicks. There'll be overcrowding, hard hitting and the annihilation of any kind of open play when detected.

It wont be pretty and therefore Im sitting this one out. I'll watch it on TV so I can flick between the channels in between the really dire stuff.

Horrible attitude to have Cacs. Any tyrone or Donegal person would enjoy the atmosphere and game no matter what the standard.

Head says Donegal all day long but maybe , just maybe....that's what the championships all about!

Fair play for your honesty there. A very good summary of the days likely events.

Jim MCguinness predicted a Donegal win because Tyrone only have a running game (no long ball options) and a running game will go nowhere against Donegal.
DOnegal have Michael Murphy and he will be the difference (on the few occasions he is put in at full forward).

I'll gor for 1-11 to 10 points with Donegal looking safe at 3 points up with 15mins to play.

I would have to go Donegal on this one. Won't be easy but Mc Brearty will get scores that count I think.
You might not like the honesty of that stance redhanddefender but it is happening more and more in my experience when faced with the dire spectacle that some of these games are.
I know there are some who will say its enthralling but its not for most I've come across.

Anyway ,Donegal to win by a goal.

It may not be a high scoring, free flowing classic, but i feel were in for one hell of a battle.Tyrone, have endured a few unhappy runs through the back door recently, and will be doing everything in their power to prevent another. That, and the motivation to finally, after a few harrowing losses, beat Donegal on their home patch would set Micky and Tyrone up nicely for the year ahead. Will they be good enough?I think they have a good chance.Donegal have home advantage, and regardless of what some say,its better than playing in Omagh. They are hard to beat there.Donegal are a seasoned, hardened, manly team, with some star-studded men of the claibre of Lacey,McGee,McBrearty and Murphy. There is a lot of pressure on both teams. If Tyrone lose,it is more ammunition for the Micky Harte doomsayers.I wouldnt fancy Tyrones chances in the shark infested waters of the qualifiers. This team needs a big, moral boosting victory to reignite the old Tyrone warrior spirit. What better way than this Sunday?Close call.I wouldnt be surprised if Tyrone sneak through, but the sensible money is on a Donegal win.Just.

No mind games or any of that here, Donegal will win. Too battle hardened and physically superior.

I can't see this being anywhere as one-sided as the league encounter. I would suggest there won't be anymore than 3 points between the sides throughout the 70+ minutes. The team who makes the best start will win this one in my opinion. It's important for Tyrone that they don't fall behind early on, as Donegal rarely relinquish a lead in championship football. Tyrone potentially have a sting in their tail, and possess talent throughout their team, therefore if they win it won't be seen as a major surprise. However, Donegal look good under Rory Gallagher and with home advantage I'll give them the nod.

Donegal by 3 points.

As we nearer the big day I'm getting less and less confident, and haven't watched mickey Harte last night you just cannot underestimate any team that he puts out.......

Having said this i just feel we hold all the aces on these teams..... Experience, power, quality and Home advantage..... But this is Tyrone our local neighbours with the top manager in the game so this makes this really difficult, but from what I saw in the league game I just don't think Tyrone have the forward power to beat us, so for that reason I'm predicting a 1-12 to 0-11 in favour of Dun Na NGall.........

I like many others, predict this to be an extremely tight game.

With Jim McGuinness now gone, Tyrone will be a little more optimistic that their last Championship meeting. I got a real sense in the last 2 weeks that Tyrone are really up for this game. They have been buoyed on by the U21 success, and this may be the tightest game yet between these two old foes. A draw would not shock me.

Clearly are now the most experienced of the two teams, and in recent years have been the more successful. If I was to pick a winner, It would be Donegal.

A lot will depend on Sean Cavanaghs fitness.

Tyrone need him, not only as a player but also for his leadership, if he isn't up to par the Donegal will win well.

If he is at 100% then I still think Donegal will win but it might be tight.

The closer we get to this game, its very hard to call, Tyrone or Donegal can win. draw, etc, it looks Donegal, and has been for a while against Tyrone, but hi its not long back when Tyrone were beating us all the time, i think who ever wants it the most will win, in Ulster and on the day anything can happen, all the best to Donegal seniors and minors, would i write off Tyrone, no, never.

Guys - realistically it doesn't really matter who wins this match because you whoever wins will have to battle Armagh, and then either Down or Derry. Oddly enough (and some will disagree) it's one of those cases where going through the back door looks more attractive to get a bit of momentum going (plus we know you Tyrone guys love the scenic route ;)) may the best team win but from a totally non-biased, neutral perspective - Tír Chonaill Abú!

I am putting my neck out here. Tyrone will beat Donegal on Sunday, I am an neutral by the way. JMG factor was huge in Donegal's success. Without him on the line and with Tyrone having brought in a new trainer Harte will have Tyrone set up nicely. Tyrone by 3.

Why couldn't we have got an easy first round draw like last year! Are down budding up with Armagh now this year because you needed one of them to guide your team?
