Paul Curran retirement

(Oldest Posts First)

Heard the news break last night.
A great defender for Tipp down the years and probably had his best years in 2009 & 2010 in a Tipp jersey.
The last day against Waterford something told me this would be his last year or even game.
Not a nice way to bow out just after the league but in this day and age modern hurling is not for passengers and making up numbers on a panel anymore.
All in all one of my favorite defenders tough & teak. Will be missed in that dressing room.
Happy retirement Paul. Enjoy it.

Here, here, he was a great servant to the jersey. Sad to see him go like and this and the lack of general interest in his retirement. Whatever it is, hurling legends seem to slip into retirement and it's barely noticed. Ben O'Connor is a prime example of this.

Agree. Hurling threads/players just dont seem to get the same attention on this forum, but all the best to Curran.
The last few years, with the defeats to Kilkenny will have hurt, but he won the big one so fair play to him.
