Dublin - Greatest team ever?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Based on that first half performance, I'd say Dublin are odds on for the All-Ireland. Powerful team, tactically clever and all over Cork.

a little bit carried away there!
a question to be posed at the end of the decade!

the dubs did blow cork away big time but as always the championship is a total kettle of fish

Serious pace, serious power. One would wonder for AMATEUR players, where do they get the time to put in such an amount of work?

Are they better than last year's 'Bestest Dublin team in the history of the GAA Universe' side? Wow.......we are not worthy! Remind me how much did Dublin get from the GAA last year? 1.8 million Euros wasn't it?

That game was a big, slow motion YAWN! Bring on the Ulster Championship, it's one of the very few entertaining, exciting things left in the GAA.

Oh sweet Jesus will ye stop, Cork should be ashamed of themselves for putting that type of effort into a national final, I wouldn't judge the brilliance or otherwise of this Dublin team on that performance they simply had nothing up against them

Kerry team of those eras wouldn't be a patch on current Dublin team or probably most of the current top 6 teams! They didn't have any competition at the time bar Dublin or Cork so maybe that Kerry team can say goodbye instead of hello!

It isn't for the neutral viewer.

Are you forgetting about Offaly?? Or Roscommon in 1980, Tyrone in 1986, they gave Kerry plenty to think about during that period

Cork were awful... Shockingly bad.

DubsJohn - I don't think you can compare the different decades personally.
But if you want to I'd say Dublin have still have a bit to go before you can compare them with the 00s Kerry side.
7 finals, 5 wins.

Ned what is your POINT.If you know something let's hear it.
UM more of your usual irrelevant negativity. Nothing at all to offer.

Good result for Dublin today. Cork poor. Kerry won't be too concerned.

Ah Ulsterman, we've proved before that you haven't a clue when it comes to fund allocation figures. Why do you keep persisting with these makey up amounts when everybody knows that you are a spoofer?

Anyway, the Dubs....the drive for five is on!!!!

I saw the title of this thread and assumed it was started by one of our lovable rogue Dubs.

I actually would have Dublin as favourites this year but not because of anything that happens in the National League. The performance today was typically powerful and I believe their success in the league over the last few years shows the strength they have in depth. This is key in the league when counties are looking at their entire squads. What also helps on a day like today is that Dublin normally play league finals knowing that there is not a big championship game just around the corner.

I actually found it hard to get excited about this weekends finals given we all know fine well that many of the sides involved have their gaze elsewhere. I think this is evident from the attendance today and yesterday.

But hats off to the Dubs, when it comes to league football they are not finding much match these days.

8 All Irelands in 12 years. Kerry done it when everything wasn't in their favour. Dublin don't really have any competition outside Kerry, Donegal and Mayo

Those Martin McHugh still think Dublin are mentally weak? Are we likely to get a retraction from this great GAA guru? I won't hold my breath.
