Dubs overcome strong challenge from Offaly , 1-09 to 2-11. Encouraging for Offaly are the beaten Dublin gave them last year !

Great win for the Wee County over the lillies today in Drogheda. That's a badly needed win to lift moral in Louth. An Lu abu!

I think it's so stretched out to give them the chance of playing before the big senior matches in Septemeber, that being said there's no need to start so early, maybe it's to help club championships but the winners of the Leinster matches yday are going to have to wait another month till the quarterfinals which is mad with the Leaving cert coming up so soon for a lot of them and no doubt they'll still be training 2/3 times a week until then.

Louth winning was a bit of a surprise though they are considered to be very good this year..... Dublin Kildare and Meath (in that order) are probably the top 3 in it. Wouldnt be too surprised if Carlow came close enough this year either as they appear to have their best team in a number of years....

I do think there should be unanimity between all counties in all provincial games.

Meath are better than Kildare, trust me on that,Meath also hammered Louth in the league.I have seen quite a bit of Meath this year, and they have a serious chance of winning leinster..

Another step towards improving the Leinster MFC is to stop including Kilkenny in the draw. Most years they play the first round, get beaten by around 30 points, and pull out of the loser's round afterwards, making a bit of a joke of the draw. This year they pulled out of the championship only two weeks before they were supposed to play Carlow, leaving them with the disadvantage of having no games played before their quarter final.

Seriously, if Kilkenny are going to keep pulling out of the Leinster MFC, why bother putting them in the draw at all? They haven't taken football seriously since the 1920's and that's never going to change.

Could Louth end up winning it? Great start for them yesterday, superb victory. At this age you just never know what a bit of momentum could do for you

A bit of a stretch alright but the Leaving Certificate takes a good month out of it at least.

Why arn't Kilkenny ever punished for this? I'm sure there was at least of couple of lads on that team dying to get a chance to play minor championship and there was certainly 30 lads from Carlow wanting to be out on a pitch on Saturday, they'll be at a big disadvantage now come to the quarter finals as even though it wouldn't have been a competitive match I'm sure the management would have picked up a few small things and the players would have maybe got rid of some of the nerves that come with Championship Football. They should be told if they can't enter a football team they can't enter a hurling one either, I'm sure that would wake them up

@ Keeks
A very big ask for the Wee County to win it. 1953 was the last time that they won it and 1971 was the last time they reached the final. A big weekend in four weeks with the minors playing on the 16th and the seniors playing on the 17th of May.
