It looks like Donegal are playing Donegal... jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20600 - 15/03/2015 15:10:31 1702835 Link 0 |
Good game to be honest .Donegal have faded out since the middle of the second half, but the first half in particular was excellent with some great football being played by both sides uibhfhaili1986 (Offaly) - Posts: 1296 - 15/03/2015 15:27:35 1702839 Link 0 |
If Tyrone thought Kerry anything jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20600 - 15/03/2015 15:32:08 1702843 Link 0 |
Don't know why I bother with these threads , that was a decent game . Excellent place kicking , high fielding and scores from play . What are you expecting in the middle of March ! TheRightStuff (Donegal) - Posts: 1688 - 15/03/2015 15:38:21 1702848 Link 0 |
That was a very enjoyable game with both teams playing a full forward line that they were happy to kick the ball long into. The defending was solid but good accurate kick passes were bringing scores. Also great to see some real respect between the players at stages - Donegals no. 15 kicked a great point from 50 yards and a minute later offered his hand to help a Kerry man off the ground, both these feats were notable for how rare they happen in the modern game. Agree Soma , thought Donegal kicked a lot of long ball . Noticed that bit of sportsmanship myself ! TheRightStuff (Donegal) - Posts: 1688 - 15/03/2015 16:07:58 1702869 Link 0 |
Excellent competitive game, westkerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1250 - 15/03/2015 16:15:15 1702872 Link 0 |
Fitzmaurice is not stupid he made sure a McHugh wouldn't score a second goal. chicago09 (Kerry) - Posts: 694 - 15/03/2015 16:22:14 1702876 Link 0 |
Tis getting nice and tight in the division, should be entertaining over the next 3 or 4 weeks :D realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8589 - 15/03/2015 16:23:00 1702877 Link 0 |
Tbf to Donegal (ive been there biggest critic over the years) they played some really good football out there today and they weren't overly defensive and they kicked the ball a lot , great win for kerry I thought Moran was a country mile the best player on the pitch Tommy Walsh looks way off which is to be expected. I know it's been said before a million times but division 1 should be made into the championship the games are so much better and way more exciting. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 15/03/2015 18:31:33 1702966 Link 0 |
Clondalkin - that's the first ever post that I agree with you , there needs to be something done alright . Having Dublin , Kerry , Mayo , Donegal etc playing against each other every week or two would be great . A top tier would be excellent ! Championship is too lop sided . Yep I said it before, the League should be the premier competition but it would take some swallowing of pride by the top 'knobs' for this to happen :D realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8589 - 15/03/2015 19:06:04 1702996 Link 0 |
So people would have been happy for Division 2 Donegal to not be allowed play for the top prize in Gaelic football last year? Soma (UK) - Posts: 2630 - 15/03/2015 19:12:22 1703005 Link 0 |

Soma - no , I mean an alteration to the overall system , a fair championship and one where there are way more competitive matches ! TheRightStuff (Donegal) - Posts: 1688 - 15/03/2015 19:46:07 1703041 Link 0 |

Up D Kingdom!! Great result today, fair play to the boys! Two winnable games left, think one more win should put us into the semis. As someone said, division 1 is getting very interesting.... TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 15/03/2015 20:05:40 1703054 Link 0 |
Enjoyable game today and could have went either way but i think Kerry deserved the win. Their midfield was better than ours today with Neil Gallagher playing well but had poor support. Tir Conaill Abu (Donegal) - Posts: 1671 - 15/03/2015 20:57:58 1703099 Link 0 |

Watching League Sunday last night, I heard Pat Spillane mention that Donegal had 9 players over the age of 30 in a tone of they are in old and in decline. I was bit shocked by this, and had a look through their panel. I could only find 6 players in their whole squad aged 30 or over, Including Goalkeeper Paul Durkin who is 30.
