At 25 Kyle Coney should be at his peak like JOD, My Tyrone cousins what has happened to this talent, dropped from the league squad. kerryrowz (Kerry) - Posts: 833 - 29/01/2015 10:41:03 1687625 Link 0 |
There was a thread about this made yesterday, besides John O'Driscoll was at his peak in the early 90's ;-) SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2385 - 29/01/2015 11:05:00 1687636 Link 0 |
Seems odd that players who trained over Winter and played in McKenna Cup decide to retire just before the league or are dropped just before the league! Where is brenthered when you need some inside gossip!!! hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 29/01/2015 11:24:50 1687647 Link 0 |
Coney was substituted at half time on Saturday night, as was Joe McMahon and Plunkett Kane. Mark Donnelly was replaced early into the second half also. These four men are not part of the national league panel for one reason or another. In Coney's case he felt aggrieved at being taken off and left the ground before the end of the game. I am lead to believe that Harte has dropped him from the panel for this reason. The attacking options are quite limited on this Tyrone panel at the minute to say the least, so I would hope that when the dust settles he will apologise to Harte for his error and is allowed to re-join the panel. Gavin Devlin could play a role here if he has any regard for his fellow club man. mugsys_barber (Tyrone) - Posts: 2160 - 29/01/2015 12:59:49 1687698 Link 0 |
That's a shame. Was looking forward to seeing how he got on in the league. He was looking like a real talent, in patches. Harte's people management skills are going to come in for a testing it seems. To be honest any player who does not row in needs to be shown the door. If he has gone off in a sulk because he was dropped then let the baby have his bottle and leave him axed. Harte could do with him though. Joxer (Dublin) - Posts: 4698 - 29/01/2015 19:00:53 1687855 Link 0 |
I strongly suspect we will see both Joe and Kyle playing for Tyrone again. Not during the League but at some other point. tyroneed (Tyrone) - Posts: 753 - 29/01/2015 19:41:42 1687866 Link 0 |
