Gumshields

(Oldest Posts First)

Just wondering lads, what do any of ye think are the best gumshields for football? Didnt play this year due to injury so going back training soon and just wondering which to buy. I seen the GPA ones in a shop somewhere recently for about 25 euro, while also seen cheaper ones for 5/6 euro. Any difference?

A made to fit is what is recommended, for me its a boil-in-pot type. The fitted ones "feel" better now whether they give better protection against a forearm smash over cheaper ones - I seriously doubt it.

Never had any issue playing rugby or gaelic when wearing a gumshield and virtually was always wearing the cheap €4/5 gumshields.. Only time regularly wore one that cost much more than that was the special one worn over braces...
