No Cork players and more Tipp players than Kilkenny what a joke. Thoughts?

You need to be a bit more specific than that Clondalkin?

Cork won Munster and didn't get 1 all star, how can that be right? Kilkenny win the league Leinster and all ireland and get less all stars than Tipp even doh they've bet Tipp in league and all Ireland, how can that be right?

I was a neutral and picked the exact team as they were calling out the nominees. Power unlucky to be fair but I don't think it was that controversial.

One or two questionable selections on the hurling team I agree. I thought Dowling was nominated for YHOTY. It seems a bit strange that he got on the team but the YHOTY Cathal Barrett didn't. Barrett and Richie Power are probably the two most surprising omissions.

So which Cork player should of got an all star and who would you drop ? The all stars is about individual performances not team performances........ so clondalkin who would you of picked ?

Not really a big farce at all Barrett unfortunate not to get Allstar fully deserved YPOTY though! Less controversial than the football all the same!

Barrett unlucky as well but they were always gonna out Hickey in and how could you leave Murphy out? Tough calls.

Eoin Larkin for me a noteable absentee also. Probably his nomination in half forwards cost him. Cathal Barrett unlucky to be overlooked, but Paul Murphy and Seamus Hickey were excellent also.

You are on your own with Larkin I'd say. One of the best forwards I've ever seen but not this year.

That's the thing about the all stars, with only 15 places you're going to get fellas left out that are just as deserving as the lads on the team. You could probably pick 2 teams and still have someone left out.

Maybe Lehane was unlucky but Tipp were Munster Champions in 2012 and had no one selected and Limerick had only one All Star last year.

Conor Fogarty definitely instead of Shane McGrath for me.

Richie power played in two finals and I think maybe 15minutes in semi and people calling for him to get an all star. What about Richie McCarthy from Limerick didn't put a foot wrong all year and JJ gets fullback. The only real position that causes a bit of debate is Shane McGrath at midfield and maybe fullback but then would KK be all Ireland champions without JJ I think not a hope.

Why is nobody talking about P Maher at 6. He played only 2 games there all year. The AI final and the replay. He excelled at 7 against Galway in second half and against Cork so I suppose they were trying to find a place for him.

He was good the first game and was anonymous the second day. It could be said that there is no quality 6 s around at the minute I suppose but traditionally this guy has starred at 7 and never made the transition to 6 he not even first choice 6 in Tipp

Richie Power not getting an all star makes total joke of whole team. Had huge impact on semi final and the 2 finals. Kilkenny would have probably lost the semi final and drawn final without him and may have lost the replay without his goal. Scored cracking goals, his first goal in drawn game was pure genius. I thought he might have chance to get hurler of the year although Richie Hogan deserved it more. JJ Delaney on other hand after being taken for so many scores against Tipperary on the biggest stage should not be in team.

Kieran Donaghy got an all star for Kerry footballers and only played 2 and a bit games so doesn't seem to come into it when they make the decisions.Once you get to final you will likely get the nod.Bit unfair to some other great performers alright.Mc Carthy would be noticeable omission for sure.

Good team.I would have had Fogarty in midfield instead of McGrath.McGrath did get 3 good points v Cork and another 5 in total in both finals, which is good for a midfielder.Fogarty, while not as flashy, got through a mountain of work, with plenty of blocks, hooks, dispossesions, etc.Style over substance won the prize for this position.Richie Power, like Donaghy in the football, made maximum impact in a short timeframe.Kilkenny wouldnt have won the All Ireland without his goals and general contribution. He can count himself unlucky.Good to see Limerick bringing 2 awards back Shannonside.Nice award for young Cathal Barret.

Two all stars, a nice acknowledgement of what was a very positive year. But they don't mean as much as a final would have, and I cannot fathom how Tipp have won more than Kilkenny here :/
