Some of his cross field passing in the Mayo final on Sunday would be the envy of professional sportsmen. Hed land the ball straight into a team mates arms from 40 metres. A seriously seriously talented footballer, one of the most naturally talented in the game, and id love to see him get his hands on a Celtic cross. A joy to watch.

Ya you are right joncarter, Dillons performance yesterday was superb. Hes without doubt the best all round footballer in Mayo for and maybe even Connacht. His workrate, desire, hunger, ball skills and temperment was top class. Who knows maybe he can lead Ballintubber to a good run in the club championship. Id love to see Dillo get an all ireland medal.

Unfortunately he had a great chance of getting a Celtic cross last year but was no-where to be seen when the game came to the crunch.

Have always admired him and he certainly has lots of talent but it take bundles more to get over the line.

There is always someone to try to take away any praise from a good footballer. By the last posters rational there never was nor ever will be a great footballer in Westmeath because they will never win an all Ireland.

If you take the time to watch any final Dillon has played in, most teams put there best half back on him to nullify his abilities. If everyone knew he wasn't going to perform on the big day why would you put your best halfback on him?

A top quality footballer who never gets the praise he deserves. Shipped some heavy criticism from within his own county in 2013, yet was playing the entire year injured. As for not being there when his team needed him, there aren't many footballers in the country that would have kicked that point from the sideline in the drawn game with Kerry, in fact most wouldn't have even taken it on.
