I've just heard on the RTE news that tickets for the hurling final are still available on the GAA website. MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 5028 - 05/09/2014 18:48:31 1648570 Link 0 |

Don't worry theres loads of interest there but a bigger factor is money is so tight for a lot of people..GAA tickets especially kids are very fairly priced all year but the final at 80 euro a seat is out of reach of many especially when 2/3/4 people in a house want to go...its ok if you work in ESB or something but for many the bobs aren't there... hurler32 (Limerick) - Posts: 867 - 06/09/2014 10:24:38 1648677 Link 0 |
GAA games are a great family day out and good value through the league and up to the AI final. But at 320 euro for 2 adults and 2 kids it's out of reach for many. You'll find plenty of bandwagon jumpers at the finals with many week in week out fans priced out of it. Don't necessarily blame the GAA but it seems a bit unfair. As a neutral tomorrow, I became aware of tickets remaining for the match via email sent to me as I was a season ticket holder for my own county. I'm now getting to see 2 All-Ireland finals for €40 and I'm not too worried about the view or whether or not I'm standing. Hogan stand reports that Kilkenny sent back 1000 tickets so to all those in Kilkenny who will only go to a game if there's a 'good view', I say thank you for being bandwagon supporters! I guess I won't see you in Nowlan Park either for the national league match next spring! barrnasraide (Carlow) - Posts: 49 - 06/09/2014 12:41:15 1648711 Link 0 |

I wouldn't sit in the lower Canal end for a hurling match if you paid me.The nets really obscure your view for football (so hurling it would be even worse) and sitting behind the goals is never a good option unless you are up very high. uibhfhaili1986 (Offaly) - Posts: 1296 - 06/09/2014 13:01:42 1648720 Link 0 |

Can't agree with you d5, the football was absolutely dire up to the semis, the two mayo-Kerry matches were brilliant, the replay probably the match of the year eoin far in either code, Donegal-Dublin was worse than limerick-Kilkenny , cork-tipp wasn't much good, but there were way way more good hurling matches this year than football (eg, wexford-clare, cork-waterford, Laois-Galway, tipp-limerick, etc. Etc.) whereas the football only came to life in the semis. flack (Dublin) - Posts: 1054 - 06/09/2014 15:32:15 1648767 Link 0 |
