Top 10 Football Teams 2014 so far

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

With one game to go in the quest for Sam, the following would be my top 10 ranking teams based on performances this year so far.

1 : Donegal - Ulster champions and All Ireland final favorites.
2 : Dublin - Leinster Champions and League div 1 champions.
3 : Kerry - Munster champions and all ireland finalists.
4 : Mayo - Connacht champions and unlucky semi final looser.
5 : Monaghan - Ulster runners up and Div 2 champions.
6 : Cork - Reasonable league performances in div 1.
7 : Armagh - Relegated to div 3 but great run in the qualifiers. Unlucky to loose to Donegal.
8 : Derry - Good league campaign. Beaten div 1 finalists.
9 : Tyrone - Good league campaign.
10 - Kildare - Good qualifier run. Unlucky against Monaghan.

Derry lost to Longford, who lost to Tipp, who lost to Galway, who lost to Kerry. If Derry are top8, it's a pity they wouldn't start showing it.

So far the top 8 are the quarterfinalists.

To be fair you would almost have to have Donegal and Kerry level at no.1 mine would be

1.Kerry/Donegal
2.
3.Dublin
4.Mayo
5.Monaghan/Cork
6.
7.Kildare
8.Derry
9.Galway
10.Tyrone

I might be a bit biased but think thats the nearest you could possibly come to ranking the top 10 teams in the country

Surely be default Kerry and Donegal should be in top two, how can it be otherwise if they are the finalists??

Uhm lads, you can't really put Kildare in the top ten and leave out Meath.

1646030 Uhm lads, you can't really put Kildare in the top ten and leave out Meath.

Based on how both teams finished the Season i think its justified. Meath done nothing after beating Kildare whereas Kildare regrouped and ALMOST beat Monaghan so i would agree with Kildare ahead of Meath
