Following Kerry's win yesterday, who was the last team in transition to make an All-Ireland final?

Whoever gets through today's game will be the favourites to go on and win the All-Ireland. We can't have any qualms about that in fairness. We are where we are and we are aware of that. I said earlier in the year that I was hopeful we would make the final. Someone quipped was that Kerry's ambition these days. Not at all was my response! Sure all anyone can do is get to the All-Ireland final first. If you don't get there, you're not going to be in with a chance of winning it.

Anyways, back on the topic question. Who was the last team in transition to make an All-Ireland final?

You'll have to define what "in transition" means first as Kerry have reached a final, a QF, and a SF in the 3 seasons up this. This is Fitzmaurice's second season in charge. McGuinness won an All-Ireland in his second season. James McCartan also got Down to a final with an unheralded group of players too. I think the "in transition" label is a bit ridiculous and this thread is a small bit pointless no offence.

Kerry are only in the final because the
referee gifted the game to them yesterday!
And after their antics at the end of the
game they are now undoubtedly the most cynical
team in the country; don't expect the southern
media to comment on it though!

@Pericles - I see what you mean but I am actually genuinely curious. I'm trying to gauge how a team in transition gets on in a final. I can't think of a situation to reference.
