Ways to offset the "inevitable" dominance of Dubs

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

With all in sundry now telling us The Dubs are about to rule GAA with an iron fist forever and that competition and the GAA as we know it is doomed, DOMMED I TELL YA...DOOMED....forever

I think it is incumbent on us all to come up with ways to stop this seemingly irrestible surge of Dublin Orks overtaking our once fair and ethical organisation!

Can I suggest something....

A loan system similar to that in soccer. Thst way when Dublin have too many class players, thus stunging the progress of these individuals, they can be loaned out to our provincial neighbours as a gesture of good will and love.
So when a fella is brilliant, but just not as brilliant as the lads ahead of him in the panel, he can be loaned to say a Meath or a Kildare for a summer. Then if he proves himself, we will just take him back and let him play with the big boys again

This way the player plays IC, The lesser lights get a great player and the parent team get to see their player in the heat ot battle. Winner winner chicken dinner Surely......no???

The above suggestion may or may not be serious..................

Or, you could put the Dubs on the road for the Leinster championship, simple, yet effective, no need for the window dressing.

hahahaha Brilliant.....I have to say i'm sick of hearing of all the options people are throwing around. Dublin have one 2 all Irelands in 3 years. Ok they may well win this one as well but others will rise. The only option for the other "top dogs" is to surely up their game. Harder training, better conditioning & most importantly better underage structures. Dublin's time is now but i can guarantee you that other teams will come to the fore soon.

Or just loan out some of the 4000 full time staff the Dublin U16s have

If you really think that would have stopped Dublin winning 9 of the last 10 Leinster titles then you don't know much about football...
Added to the fact, that when it went to various Leinster Council votes with other counties, the other counties Chose to leave the games in Croker..

@Brendtheredhand

Again, direct that to the Leinster Council and to the County Boards of other counties in Leinster. Nothing to do with Dublin.

Move Croke Park to slightly outside the Dublin county lines. That way they wouldnt have home advantage and therefore wouldnt win every single year.

The two and a half plus million euro, Dublin receive from the GAA every year, could be granted to other counties for development of the games outside of the capital. Dublin have adequate private sponsorship to finance themselves.

Calm the ham Fionn, enjoy the Dubs time in the sun. At some stage a few teams will get up to their level. Only ones close to their level at the moment are Mayo and Donegal. Time will tell if they're good enough. If Dublin don't win it this year, there'll be a lot of pundits crying into their cornflakes!

Apologies moylagh - but this keeps popping up about the games being held in Croke Park.
If other counties want to change it they have ample opportunity via the Leinster Council voting systems.

if in doubt check the blood lines... only 5 generation dubs should be able to play for Dublin. Rumour has it Dermo Connolly has country parents. Now he's a player KK could build a football team around...
