I see Jim in the Indo today taking a veiled swipe at the Dubs, saying we are like Chelsea and how we have so much more resources etc than anyone else....... Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8166 - 19/08/2014 09:21:51 1638675 Link 0 |

Disrespectful mind games. Expected better from him. HenryHill16 (Dublin) - Posts: 249 - 19/08/2014 09:50:15 1638682 Link 0 |
Is that the sum total of your riposte then Liam, he can't compare them cos he's employed by Glasgow Celtic? Is he wrong in making such a comparison, are there similarities and is he right to highlight the growing gap between the haves and the have nots of county GAA? These are the pertinent questions and JMcG as a county manager with relatively meagre county resources when compared to some, has every right to raise the issue now before the situation becomes untenable and we end up with a championship so predictable and one sided that the public will eventually turn their back on it to the detriment of the game as a whole. brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 19/08/2014 09:56:20 1638688 Link 0 |
I don't think that's what that is. He was probably asked a question about Dublin's facilities and resources and that was his answer. dstuction (Donegal) - Posts: 1209 - 19/08/2014 10:00:38 1638693 Link 0 |

Jim will need to try every trick in the book to help his team out for the semi maybe the pressures getting to him and he feels the need for mind games! But to be fair to him id like to know under what context he made these comments! DUBJOHN (Dublin) - Posts: 932 - 19/08/2014 10:23:52 1638718 Link 0 |

It is disrespectful in the extreme - by comparing Dublin to Chelsea we have to assume he is talking about finances. Abramovich is known for buying the premierleague by funding large transfers and paying huge wages. HenryHill16 (Dublin) - Posts: 249 - 19/08/2014 10:26:43 1638720 Link 0 |
Don't know if its mind games. It's basically saying Donegal have no right to beat Dublin. I guess he could be thinking it will motivate his players but it could have the opposite effect. realman2 (Kildare) - Posts: 464 - 19/08/2014 10:28:26 1638721 Link 0 |

If you actually read the article properly, he is 100% respectful and accurate in his summing up. It is a perfect analysis of where things are at, he even admits trying to mimic the set up in Dublin. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3830 - 19/08/2014 10:33:10 1638727 Link 0 |

I was wondering how long it would take for this to get twisted. It's not a swipe. It's not veiled. squareball_1988 (Donegal) - Posts: 343 - 19/08/2014 10:39:09 1638734 Link 0 |
