Donal Óg made this claim about Gleeson's puck outs yesterday. Sitting in the Davin End I was amazed at his precision in the first half. Is he the Cluxton of hurling? keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 18/08/2014 13:43:52 1638334 Link 0 |
Would be wrong to give him all the credit, Cork played their part in it too. RebelCork (Cork) - Posts: 789 - 18/08/2014 14:16:00 1638359 Link 0 |
Kilkenny will actually mark the Tipp players next day out valley84 (Westmeath) - Posts: 1890 - 18/08/2014 14:17:18 1638360 Link 0 |
I have to say i found that a bizzare comment. Tipperary have a problem winning primary possession in their half forward line so Cork decided to let them take short puck outs. You really could not make it up. It was one of the most in adequate pieces of management i have ever seen in truth. Hoover78 (Limerick) - Posts: 865 - 18/08/2014 14:27:00 1638364 Link 0 |
Brian Cody will be thankful to Donal Og for pointing that out. Then again he was there and saw it for himself. His team won't be as inept as Cork. Couldn't blame JBM totally. If a player doesn't know to face a puck out at this level then what can you do.... bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 18/08/2014 14:37:49 1638370 Link 0 |
Cody will have a response. Awesome display by Tipp yesterday but I'd still favour Killkenny in the final. mod (Mayo) - Posts: 859 - 18/08/2014 15:31:24 1638409 Link 0 |
Hoover you are reading to much of Ger Loughane, Tipp have a problem winning primary possession is a comment used by lazy journalists. Please go and do some research since league final and you will be amazed at the stats on Tipp and the percentage of puck outs/primary possession they have won. For example in league final V KK Tipp won 68% of puck outs. therealtmo (Tipperary) - Posts: 1292 - 18/08/2014 21:40:51 1638629 Link 0 |
Gleeson did very well to pick out loose Tipp players well out the field.Cork facilitated him by not going man to man. Cody won't be so naive. jerryp (Cork) - Posts: 104 - 19/08/2014 09:52:57 1638685 Link 0 |
