Cork v Tipp

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I have a feeling Tipp will win. Something tells me this Cork team isn't quite as good as people are making out, whereas Tipp have a lot of momentum going into this match. I could well be proven wrong but it's just a hunch.

Tipp look a lot sharper in the opening fifteen minutes, especially their forwards. Callinan has Shane O' Neill in all sorts of trouble at full back and Pauric Maher is dominant at the back for Tipp.

Cork are being beaten all ends up. Shocking by Cork.

strange game so far. Tipp by far the better team but only 2pts in it. Cork had some shocking wides.
dunno what to make of some of the refs decisions, still anyones game even though Cork need to wake up a bit!

Have to say, the ref has given a few very, very harsh decisons against Tipp!!!!Each one punished by a Nash free.

Ref has kept Cork in the game either through giving them soft frees or not giving Tipp fairly obvious frees. Cork's shooting has been abysmal. In the circumstances they'll be delighted to be only two down.

exhibition by Tipp at this stage. Cork very disappointing. Winning Munster just doesn't seem to be tche option any more if you want to do it at semi final stage.

Cork seem to be completely off the pace of the game.

No contest now, Tipp breezing past Cork. Not sure what's wrong with Cork, tiredness, over trained? Something is seriously wrong with them out there. No intensity, players on both teams can have 2 or 3 touches and still keep the ball. I'm sure Cody is enjoying this.

The reality is this is corks level, they are not good enough to win an All Ireland. They are incapable of winning any high ball. They are being bullied out there, zero intensity from cork, if it was a boxing match ref would have stopped it by now. Kilkenny would have murdered them.
You cannot paper over the cracks, Cork at under age for the past decade have been very very poor. I see the same signs in Cork that I saw in limerick for years prior to 2010.

I said I fancied Tipp before the match but I didn't envisage it would be this one-sided. As impressive as Tipp were I thought Cork were abysmal. Not just poor, abysmal. Really hard to fathom how they put in such a flat performance.

The ref may have been Corks best performer ballydalane although he didnt seem to have as many clangers in the 2nd half

Who would have thought this would have happened, was really looking forward to a great contest but unfortunately it didnt happen.

Tipp Kilkenny final is mouth watering - should be an intense battle

Cork just not good enough, a very beatable Clare team showed that last year.

As bad a Cork performance as I've ever seen in Championship hurling.

No intensity.

Gentlemen in the studio saying Munster Final victories now more of a hindrance than a help.

Freetaker....much as I hate to admit it but u are spot on!!! Congrats to Tipperary, you beat us in every position and Gleeson answered
his critic's. This is a black day for the Rebels but I hope and believe Tipperary, our great adversaries, will go on and win
the All-Ireland.

Yep...

5 weeks without a game

Once again the lob sided back door system strikes again

Nothing beats game time

Tipp have improved and got things in line

Cork were sitting around for 5 weeks without a game

It happened to Limerick and Dublin last year

There's no use winning your province in hurling these days...

You could see that Tipp had the momentum, Cork looked like they hadn't played in weeks

Well done to Tipp... but this back door lark needs to be looked at

Excellent post. As I posted in the other thread, that is the best we have. This is our level. We will not get to the same shape as Offaly as we have more clubs than them, but we are going in that direction. This sort of drubbing is not new. Our exits from every championship from 2008 onwards (except last year) has been tame. We are in a dreadful state. We will have a brilliant new stadium coming up though. The pitch and the team in red on it will be dreadful. At least some people with big egos get to leave a legacy.
