Clubs with County honours

(Oldest Posts First)

Reading the story about the 9 Gweedore club members having an ulster medal this year it got me wondering which club has the most county honours in one year. Would it be Crossmaglen? There was a strong representation from them on the vintage Armagh teams from late 90s that won an All ireland and numerous provincial titles.

Nemo used to always have a fair few in the Cork football setup. I would imagine a hurling club in Galway or Offaly though as they seem to have a small club base for their county team.

Maybe St Vincents in Dublin. ?

Years ago they had a monopoly on County players.

Where are the statisticians out there.??

I think (could be wrong ) that Armagh in early 00s had at one stage seven Cross lads (panel). I

As JayP said, if you go way back you will find clubs who represented their county so they would have a full panel of medalists. One quiz question which pops up offer is which Wicklow team won a Leinster Intercounty Championship. It was Bray Emmets who were the Dublin champions and so represented Dublin at intercounty.

More recently, ballyhale shamrocks must have loads in Hurling.
Crossmaglen would have won 6 or 7 in 2002.
An Gaeltacht would have quite a few in any of Kerry's successful years particularly 04.
