Biting incident

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I'm surprised there's not a thread on this. Mick O'Dowd said in the press conference that a Dublin player bit a Meath player.

I think it might have been at the end where a fight broke out and the Meath players seemed annoyed about something.

Third time this kind of thing has involved a Dublin player.

Between this and Diarmuid Connolly refusing to shake hands with certain players it calls Dublins sportsmanship into light

Alas, nothing will come out of this biting allegation.

Former poster, no thread as there is far more pressing things for mod got worry about than this. Non event until something proven. Innocent until proven guilty.

Royaldunne I think we can discuss the issue if it's in the public domain especially as Dublin have history with this kind of thing.

It's a pretty serious allegation to make and I don't think Mick O'Dowd would make it without being sure. Whether there's evidence to support his claim, we;ll have to wait and see.

Sounds like sour grapes from Meath, very disappointing.

There's a ready-made solution to all this already in place. Make it mandatory for the players to wear hurling helmets. Actually while they're at it, give them hurls and make the ball a lot smaller. Then we'd have a proper game :)

Terrible, awful, atrocious, sickening etc etc

Wonder why only Dublin players do this?!

Nothing at all to do with them winning all around them and having little else to criticise the Metropolitans about. Pure coincidence.

This needs to be investigated but innocent until a finding is concluded. Certainly not sour grapes. If proven there should be a lengthy ban. If not proven then move on. Well done to dubs. So powerful all over the pitch.

it will be interesting to see what evidence there is for this but i must admit it is very strange to see another dublin player involved in a biting incident..it will be interesting to see some posters opinions on this who probably condemned luis suarez the other week for instance

and if proven to be true..people calling it sour grapes need to seriously look at themselves..why bother making an accusation like this if no basis?..quite serious if proven but innocent until proven guilty..i hope it is handled better than the donegal incident

Of course a player should be banned if found justifiably guilty, but if the 'victim' shoves his finger or hand in your mouth there's only one answer, chomp! But video evidence will clear this up, there's cameras all over Croker, so this should be dealt with swiftly!

Last thing Meath need over next two weeks is this all over media. But needs to be investigated none the less. Will be very hard to prove either way. Hope it concludes quickly and fairly

lets hope rte give this similar coverage to the numerous incidents they gave paul galvin whenever he found himself in off the ball incidents...if proven guilty a ban...if not then move on but lets hope there is actual footage of this unlike the donegal situation and there should be considering its a high profile match
