Clare v Kildare

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

First meeting ever of Clare & Kildare in the championship, and while it is the forgotten fixture this weekend it certainly is an interesting one. Clare footballers in the championship longer than the hurlers and should get a good home support in Ennis and with the gloom beginning to lift over this kildare team thanks to a very efficient performance up in Down, there should be a good travelling support also and a good atmosphere. Clare have had a good year winning promotion and pushing Kerry all the way in the Munster championship so they will go into the game with plenty of confidence and ambition. We have improved since the Meath game with fitzpatrick & lyons coming into the full back line and the team in general playing with a greater intensity and the forwards scoring freely. We have strong options from the bench as well and we might need them to get over the line in this one. I think we should have enough to win and if we do we will go into last 12 in good shape

Kildare will come out on top in this one. Handy enough.

Hopefully a couple to spare at the end. I certainly wouldn't be getting carried away with thoughts of a handy win. Clare have made great progress this year.

Real banana skin for Kildare , remember the Kildare/Limerick game in Portlaois a few years ago , I wouldnt be surprised to see similar events on Saturday evening , despite Clares novel status

Looks like you could be right stekhli, the Lilywhites are going to have to work very hard for this one.

Not a great sign for Meath ahead of the game tomorrow if Clare beat Kildare!

Still think Kildare will win though..

I don't think it matters one bit Ziggy. I think this speaks more of inconsistent Kildare play rather than anything else, bit like Meath a few years ago . brilliant one minute, dire the next. But if the worst was to happen tomorrow would I fear any of armagh, Clare/Kildare? Not in the slightest. But that won't happen and dubs will have easy path back to quarters :).

you should get used to one of those 3 teams..because they will be putting you out of the championship

Very lucky to win in Ennis today. Hope we draw Kildare if we lose tomorrow and beat them again. They haven't a hope of making a quarter final this year. No excuses beating a division 4 team by a point and struggling to do it. Fair play to Clare.

Dreadful stuff according to all accounts. I think it's about time some of my lilly brothers woke up. We are probably a mid table team at best. We we're beaten by an average Meath team and beaten well. In Kildare we are known for playing a certain way and our phylosiphy has to change. It's the reason why we never produce ANY top class inside forwards.

Jimin10. Kerry only beat them by 3 points so i think you are being very disrespectul to clare.

Daylight robbery.

Hopefully the Clare lad (number 7?) who went off at the end isn't too badly hurt.

Clare have had a good season. I suppose coming out of division 4 they will be dismissed but look they got promoted. Today's game will stand to them. Tipperary came out of division 4 as well and are being tipped by some to beat Galway.
