First I heard of this was today.... did I miss something.????

No one complaining or ranting about this..???

Where are the cries of unfairness now....??

And how much funding are they getting toward the upgrade of Pairc Ui Chaoimh again...??

Mmmmmmm....

Some people need to get of their high horses me thinks..... :o)

In all seriousness though, surely a stadium in the West will be next in line for a major upgrade and funding....
Each province needs a modern stadium that can accommodate 30,000 plus fans.

Dont give up theres always one , a mathematician that will devise some formula to explain away these figures ! Just taking longer than normal .
So far only Dubs posting ! why?
Probably due to being sick and tired of old arguments being ran down our throats and when something like this comes up the lunatic anti dub brigade are nowhere to be found .
On the actual funding no issues with Cork or any other county getting money , we have benefitted and Im sure will continue to do so , if a county is in need and they apply and get good luck to them , I wouldn't begrudge any county trying to invest in infrastructure facilities etc

God only knows what they're spending it all on. Even with the big handouts they seem to be very keen to cut costs in areas such as coaching or development squads. It will all be worth it though when we have a stadium from the 90's built in the next few years.

Well I wasn't going to bother getting into it again but there's a lot of backslapping going on here. Seriously?

It doesn't include government grants which is where Dublin are benefiting to a huge degree to the tune of €1m a year for the last six years from the Irish Sports Council in addition to whatever their getting from the central council which I would venture isn't much less than Cork.

And Cork are getting the money with the development of Páirc Uí Chaoimh in mind which is of course an expenditure Dublin don't have with Croke Park. Dublin also don't have the expense of training facilities with them currently being built by Central Council money in Abbotstown. How much money would we say that is going into Dublin structures?

Whatever about the rights and wrongs of the fairness of funding and motivations behind it you can't be seriously suggesting that Dublin are in any way getting a smaller amount of money than Cork when all funds and projects are concerned.

And once again that doesn't even include AIG, Opel, Aer Lingus, Kinetica and Louis Copeland and all the rest...

Okay I feel I've just wandered into a conversation that was already going on. Not sure who the members of the anti-Dub brigade are or what other people have been saying. I just thought there was a new thread started about funding in the GAA and I gave an opinion on that topic. Really don't feel stupid for answering, but thanks for your concern.

The degree of self-absorption in some of these Dublin threads is ridiculous. McCarthyism...
